It was great seeing public health in action. The clinic was able to help 1,200 patients, some of which have travelled from other states. Everyone was in great spirits despite the long waits. I was a bit apprehensive at first as I am quite introverted. The idea of talking to strangers is terrifying to me. I came to realize that the hardest part was talking to the first person. Working up the courage to talk to or say hi to the first stranger was a catalyst for the rest of the experience.
