Westward expansion impacted Native Americans because they got kicked off their land, even though they were there long before the settlers were in the Great Plains. Another way westward expansion impacted Native Americans was because the White settlers killed all of the buffalo, but, the buffalo was the primary source of food for the Native Americans, so when the settlers killed off most of the buffalo, the Native Americans starved. Nearly a quarter of the Native American population died due to starvation. It also forced them to make treaties with the government. But that's not all. Native Americans were forced into reservations, which were small and did not have a lot of food. It also forced them to get used to the white culture.
