A little background info of Ruby Bridges is that when she was only six years old she was the first African American child to attend an all white school in Southern Elementary School, of course she was not treated equally as the whites where because this was in the 1954`s that this was happening in. Ruby was born in September 8, 1954 in Tyler-town Mississippi and when she was in kindergarten she was one of the many African Americans chosen to take a test and the test would determine whether or not you can enter an all white school. The test they had the students take was very difficult and not so easy to pass. Ruby lived five blocks away for the all while school so she would walk. There was a lot of name calling the first time she entered the school and a lot of people were being nasty, its so different the way people are treated now then before i wish people will understand that all lives matter and everybody deserves a second chance, just like the teacher who helped and encouraged Bridges to become who she is now and yes the teacher was white also yes it was back in the day when segregation was happening people didn't want there child going to the some school with Ruby i feel so bad for her she must be lonely until one child started to play for her but the parents got mad but then didn't care at that point. I´m so proud of her and what she did! shes a role model to some young black woman to just ignore what everybody says and just do you.

She impacted to civil rights movement by using her courage, and helped get equality for blacks. She is a hero because she helped people realize to stand up for yourself and be brave.

Ruby Bridges impacted the civil rights movement by being brave and going to a school where they don't accept the African-Americans. For a year she was one of the only kids in the school. The next year, it seemed like everything changed. Nobody tried to assault her, nobody was treating her badly, and nobody wanted to talk about the last year. They accepted her into their school.
One of the character traits I would give her is bravery. She walked into the school even though at the time in the South they were racist.
The students who left her class would probably say to Ruby that they're sorry, like the people who treated the Little Rock 9 badly apologized.
She's a hero because she was brave enough to go to that school and now schools are integrated.
