Community policing is when the police go out into the community to maintain a good social status with the citizens. they do this to make sure the citizens are involved and trust the police. thus meaning if the police officer ever needed to ask questions or get information thy would be understanding and work with the police instead of not answering the questions. this allows the police to get inside information about the community and get information.

Police should not use force when people do not obey their commands. Had the idea of community policing before it became common practice. Created the Peelian Principles, which are practices all professional police forces should have, being able to prevent crime and disorder, perform duties based on approval and respect of public, minimize use of force for cooperation, remain unbiased and to not discriminate, police should only use force when all other tactics have not succeeded, police officers are not above the law, not use their power for unreasonable punishment, and the intent of the police is to prevent all crime and disorder.
