Week 1: BLOG #1 Music, Song- Best Part by Daniel Caesar

The very first time I found this song, no one really knew about. When I try to find new music, I tend to drift into the side of browsing no one really knows about. Underground artists, artists who are local someplace else or their music isn't known tend to have the best songs in my opinion. I love music that has meaning and truth to it. Back to the very first time I heard the song, I simply fell in love with it. The song talks about their better half, someone who brings the best out of them, who brightens their day, loves them at their best and worse. I personally think it's a beautiful, simple and mellow song that'll make you reminisce old times.,

Week 1: BLOG #2 The people around me

My peers and myself are coming to a point in our life when we let go of our childhood and get a grip on adulthood. Some of us may have been way independent in the early years whereas other have neglected responsibility in all. But we are at our final chapter of high school. We have a couple more months which are without doubt is going to fly by. When I look around in my class rooms, I see so many different faces. Everyone around me is either stressing or is cruising along. But at least we can all agree on one thing, which is the joy of being a teen. We at this age are able and allowed to be about freely. To find ourselves in the large sea of population. To either come to terms with who we are as a person or try to become a better than our present self. Point being that we all are constantly living through problems, whether it may be so little or big. We all have our bad days but as we grow and mature, we learn to let go and move forward for another day to come :)

Week 2: Blog #3, Entertainment

Today after years of not watching Disney channel, i finally did. And quite frankly it has changed tremendously. I remember when I was much younger, I didn't know much about the episodes aired from the T.v shows such as "That's So Rayven", "Phil Of the future", "Brandy and Mr. Whiskers", etc. At the time it didn't really click with me that they were teaching life lessons like not to steal, cheat on school tests or be dishonest in general. As i got older i slowly let go of the routine of watching t.v and that also being Disney channel. Literally a couple months back, I was scrolling through my instagram feed and the old shows i used to watch showed short clips of the life lessons being taught. When I watched disney channel the other day, it was literally bull crap. Instead of teaching the evils of the world, basic morals, to be kind, be a help to keep our planet clean. Instead it aired shows of a talking dog who ironically writes blogs of his dog life or how to get a boy's attention if you want to date them. To me it was just senseless. These children should be learning about much important things like how you should treat another with respect, to love one another no matter what, to accept things as they are and makes the best of every bad situation. I'm not writing to trash the Disney Channel, I'm just simply disappointed in the type of shows aired and what's being taught to young minds. SIGHHHHHHHHHH

Week 2 : Blog #4, Music, Song- Super Rich Kids by Frank Ocean

To start off i think this a good song that reaches out to kids or people who feel as if they need to realize the more to life. What this song is about is wealthy kids who are way fortunate when it comes to materialism but family wise and having a social life not so much. I, myself am very thankful for the type of family i have. I have people to turn to in times of need and shoulders to cry on if i so very need it. Here's a lyric from the song that I think sums up the message of the song. "too many bottles of wine we can't pronounce, too many greens with no lucky charms, super rich kids with nothing but fake friends, supper rich kids but loose ends". To sum it up this is a symp song that I would still sing along to.

Week 3 : Blog #5, work life

Today I decided to write about my day at work. In such a long time, this has to have been the most difficult day. I'm not talking about the work I have to do, I'm talking about the customers I have to deal with. To this very day after working almost three years in retail, it Amazes me beyond earth how so many people can be so rude, ignorant, impatient or just straight up messed up all around. It breaks my heart people can go about their day being so rude and uncaring of those who surround them, even if they are strangers, you should treat another with kindness, no matter how crap your day may be. But this is apart of living in this world, you have to learn how to forgive and forget and move about your life.

Week 3 : Blog #6, Music, Song- Better together by Jack Johnson

This song is one of the songs that stick in my mind, with ease. I like this song because it kinda sounds like my relationship with my boyfriend, Iv'e never once ever said that another person brings the best out of me, or understands me inside and out. He's one of the best people iv'e every met and i'm beyond thankful that he came into my life. We are really two peas in a pod, there's not a time when we can't resolve our issues, we've learned to be patient, considerate and to rely on each other. With all things that are good , there's bad and that would be that we literally can't be productive because we're always always laughing about something. All in all, I love that kid more than he could ever know.

Week #4, Blog #7, Entertainment, Movie- Insidious

insidious is said to be one or part of many scary movies. I personally love horror movies more than any other type of movie out there. Horror movies not only bring you to the edge of your seat but also bring chills down your spine. My favorite part o horror movies is the jump scares throughout the movie, it's always a surprise< which i appreciate.

Week 4, Blog #8, Music, Song- Masego by Navajo

This song you can't really hear the words clearly because it's kind of distorted due to all the other instruments being played over but you could still hear the jist of the message in the song. The song is about a guy who needs this girl who loves so dearly in his life, but every time he thinks he's close. She plays him once again. With this particular song, it moves me because of the rhythym and they way Navajo does unexpected ups and downs with his voice. I just appreciate the song for the way it makes me feel

Week 5; Blog #9, Societal Issues, Miscommunication

All throughout the years, I have realized how important communication is. We as a society really need communication, I mean where in the world we would we be without it. It helps advance and understand along the way. If we were to constantly bump heads, we would basically be in the slumps. every person in this society learns how to speak to another at a very young age. Its our way of living life and understanding those who surround us. Something else I also realized is that we teens tend to lack that part when it comes to letting our parents what goes on with our lives, this may end up turning into something toxic or maybe form some sort of distrust between the relations which is unfortunate but as we grow, we need to learn to become more comfortable with expressing ourselves through words. This may resolve so many issues, who knows? might as well give it a shot.

Week 5, Blog # 10 , Music and it's impact

At the very start of this collection of blogs, I should've reasoned the importance of music and what and how it affects me. For as long as i could remember, music has always been such a significant factor in my and life and culture. Growing up, everywhere i went there was music playing, at family parties, at the beach, the park everywhere! I was born on an island, so i was living the island life for quite some time, it was literally always a party there. Which quite frankly i miss so dearly. What music means to me is so much more than music that sounds good. It brings families and friends together, smiles to sad faces, happiness, bonds people and creates memorable moments. For me, i truly and deeply realized how such a simple thing can mend broken ties or help create a sense a happiness for people who may feel alone or who are struggling. It takes your mind off your worries and let's enjoy the short life you have. So don't take life so seriously, switch on some music and enjoy the sounds and life :)

Week 6, Blog #11, The sadness of the world

Everyday at some time of the day, I encounter things that may make me feel sad. For example, kids who make fun of other kids to make them feel better about themselves, or people being completely inconsiderate of subjects that may affect those affected negativley. Whether we like it or not, that's just how the world is, you can never rid of a bad apple in the basket. Because some way or somehow there will always be someone or something to follow along in the wrong doing which is utterly disappointing. Every where you turn, you are going to encounter someone who is so toxic, just by the words escaping their lips, it may hurt someone so much it may be engraved in their thoughts. It's better to do what's above the wrongdoing and make it right, instead of fighting fire with fire. So be nice, smile and love one another.

Jack Johnson has got to be one of my all time favs when it comes to music. One of his most popular and well known songs songs is upside down. I love this song because it talks about always moving on and forward with life even if life is moving too fast for you.

This song always hits the spot with me. I eventually will use this song in my wedding playlist. I can't express how much this song is so relatable for so many people. How the words and sounds mashed together form such a perfect message. The song simply speaks truths to the mass of couples and just right off the back touches you. The main message throughout the song is one person asking the other to never let go no matter how rough they may be having it because they will always make it out of it alive

Week 8, Blog #15, Procrastinating

I Ka'ani Benavente am a proud procrastinator. I must admit i have had endless nights of unfinished online assignments, falling asleep with the lights on, late assignments etc. But along the way it had made me the person I am today. I'm very effeciant when i need to be. Very quick to think on my feet if it's needed. Also very focused but only for a short amount of time because I tend to get very distracted easily. But all in all, learn to train yourself to be more productive with whatever tasks you may have at hand.

Week 8, Blog #16, Entertainment. The movies

Last weekend i decided to join my beloved to see a movie. I don't usually enjoy going out and spending money for a two hour movie but it sure was an event. just taking the time to be with someone and enjoy them and their all is a beautiful thing. I love the whole vibe from that day. it was very genuine and pure at heart.

Week 9, Blog #17, Music, Song- Fashion Killa by Asap rocky

I really love this song because it talks about two people who look forward to having a future together and someday will have babies of their own. The mom is very into fashion which is really expensive but dad has no problem buying what mom wants. Mom will save and store away all her precious cloths just for their soon to be child because they want their baby girl to be rocking at such a young age. Also talks about how he would do anything it takes to keep them both happy.

Week 9, Blog #18, My thoughts on this project

I really enjoyed this project, it forced me to take time out of my day and try to explain i care about certain subjects. it gave me a sense of peace and quiet and also helped me relive any further stress that I may have had prior. I really appreciate the sense of wholesome that it gives you, it likes your'e this person who doesn't care too much about devices and is always stuck on it but rather that you're explaining your reason and ways of so many topics. All in all its very comforting to me.
