On page 36 of the book, The Blue Man tells Eddie that he was the cause of his death when he was a kid. The book later explains more on how Eddie caused the death of the blue man. The way that it happens is that when Eddie's ball goes into the road and he grabs it, the blue man has to avoid him in his car and since he had heart issues it caused the blue man to have to avoid other cars and eventually crashed and when he got out of the car injured he ended up having a heart attack that caused him to die. the book then proceeds to tell the reader that Eddie went to a funeral on his birthday not knowing who it was and didn't notice that he caused it.

On page 74 of the book, Eddie starts to juggle three rocks in front of the German soldiers while having the rest of his team for an ambush attack and the attack is executed properly and they kill all four guards and escape where they then light the building on fire as a signal to other soldiers that they needed help

On page 173 of the book Marguerite says to Eddie that even though life ends, love never ends and is shown because after Marguerite died, Eddie never fell in love with another person during the 40 years after Marguerite died. Marguerite also said that love is always there even after one dies, you might not be able to see them anymore, but it can still be there in a different form.

On page 137 of the book, it shows Eddies father going to kill Mickey after he sexually assaulted his wife and he ends up saving him instead because Mickey fell into the water and started drowning. where Eddie tells Ruby that if he was his father in that situation he would have let him drown in the ocean. Ruby responds by saying that that was his dad's original idea but later changed to saving him from drowning because mickey was a childhood friend of Eddie's father and Mickey was the reason why Eddie's father jot the job at the pier in the first place with so many good memories outweighing the bad ones, Eddie's father choose to save Mickey instead of leaving him for dead.

on page 21 of the book Eddie First wakes up after dying and wonders where he is before remembering that he was trying to save a little girl from a potential roller coaster accident that would have killed her if he didn't help. when walking around after he first dies that hes at the park at the time of when he was a kid. After that he finds how everyone was at the time celebrating his birthday.

On page 90 of the book it describes that the captain died after they lit the building on fire, and when looking at the helicopter he accidentally stepped on a landmine, killing him. before the rescue team arrived.

On page 141 of the book, after Ruby explains how Eddie's father wasn't a bad guy and wanted Eddie to apologize to him, she told Eddie that holding anger was a poison that eats you from the inside out, and that hatred is a curved blade that harms both yourself, and the person you have hatred for. Eddie then realized that it's the only way to keep on going through heaven is to apologize to everybody, even people who caused you problems.

On page 191 of the book Eddie is talking to Tala about how he felt like he never had a purpose in life after constantly thinking about it and never coming to any conclusions, Tala than respond with that Eddie's life purpose was to keep the kids safe from any harm that they could be put in at the park and the true answer to Eddie's question was something that he was also thinking the whole time which was if he saved the little girl from having the ride car from hitting her.
