         <description><![CDATA[<div>Forensic science technicians mostly aid in criminal investigations. Many technicians specialize in either crime scene investigation or laboratory analysis.&nbsp; On a ordinary day they collect and analyze evidence. Most forensic science technicians spend some time writing reports, and most laboratory forensic science technicians work full time during standard hours. Then crime scene investigators may work unusual hours because of travel to crime scenes. It’s their responsibility to retrieve and store evidence from crime scenes, examine evidence, recreate crime scenes</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am interested in the forensic science career field because I enjoy watching crime investigation and crime shows. I originally heard about forensics from the shows that I watched, but then I heard more about it from the forensic science class at my school. Although, I do not know anyone is does this job.   </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Background research on a historical chemist, and how their findings contributed to this career </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>James Marsh was the first to scientist to forensics. It started when he was called by the prosecution in a murder trial to give evidence as a chemist in 1832. John Bodle, was accused of poisoning his grandfather with arsenic-laced coffee. Marsh combined a sample consisting of arsenic with sulfuric acid and arsenic-free zinc, which resulted in arsine gas. The test, now known formally known as the Marsh test. The test that can detect as little as one-fiftieth of a milligram of arsenic.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Forensic science technicians usually need at least a bachelor’s degree in a natural science, like for chemistry or biology.&nbsp; Many schools offer 4-year degree programs in forensic science. Also academic and lab courses might include organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, genetics and microbiology. On the job training generally is required for both those who investigate crime scenes and those who work in labs. You can even get a master's degree in forensic science that could give you access to more advanced positions.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Positives &nbsp;<br>1. I’d be interested in my work because forensics is interesting to me.<br>2.&nbsp; I would be able to help solve murder cases. I would be able to put the guilty people away, and prove the not guilty.<br>3. Get to help people identify victims of crimes and disasters<br><br>Negatives<br>1. Frequently analyze bloody clothing and other unpleasant and distressing evidence<br>2. Having to work many hours a day<br>3. Always working with hazardous substances</div><div><br>I think something that might change after I began my career would be technology. We already have amazing technology to test important things, but I believe more advance things will come out to where we would be able to test things a lot faster.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
