En esta parte del curso aprendí vocabulario nuevo desde verbos, como “prepararse,” hasta adjetivos. Tambien aprendi del mantenimiento de un apartamento y cuanto cuesta alquilar un apartamento en espana. Hay muchas cosas que puedes usar para mantener el apartamento limpio como la aspiradora, el trapo, el lavavajillas, y una lavadora y secadora. En este curso tambien aprendi de las familias “anfitrionas.” Es muy interesante como una persona desconocida puede vivir con una familia nueva y empezar a quererla como si fuera su verdadera familia. En esta parte aprendí de los verbos reflexivos como por ejemplo “la niña se baña.” El verbo reflexivo se usa cuando una persona está haciendo algo para sí mismo.

Los fines de semana, cuando no hay escuela, puedes salir y disfrutar de tantas cosas. Como por ejemplo, puedes ir al centro cultural y disfrutar de un espectáculo. También puedes disfrutar de las pulgas y de todo los productos que las personas ofrecen allí. Puedes aprovechar los fines de semana para ir a la carnicería para comprar carne, o puedes ir a la panadería para comprar pan. Tambien aprendi de platillos nuevos, como la paella. La paella es una comida típica de españa, contiene mariscos, carne, vegetales, frijoles, arroz, y muchas cosas más. Aprendí de comidas como las medialunas, la yerba mate, las empanadas, y las milanesas. Todo se miraba muy bueno. Tuve la oportunidad de aprender de “las compras” en españa. Los centros comerciales son muy populares para comprar ropa, zapatos, y accesorios. Aprendí que puedes “regatear” precios con los vendedores en las pulgas y aveces en el supermercado. En esta parte aprendí de los adjetivos demonstrativos, como “aquí” y “este.”

En esta parte aprendí de cosas medicas como el jarabe, el yeso, las muletas, y la enfermera. Tambien aprendi de “el presente/Imperfecto progresivo.” Por ejemplo, “el pobre niño está llorando.” Esta oración está en el presente, no en el pasado. Si fuera en el pasado entonces “el pobre niño estaba llorando” fuera la manera correcta de decir lo. En cada unidad aprendí un poco de la cultura de españa. Los estudiantes en españa empiezan la escuela en Septiembre y termina en Junio. EL sistema de educación está dividido en tres partes, la primaria, secundaria, y el bachillerato. Los estudiantes pueden ir a casa para comer. Los españoles tienen diferentes lugares para comprar la comida. Para comprar la carne ellos van a la “carnicería” y para el pan ellos van a “la panadería.” Aprendí de la music tradicional de españa, el flamenco. Los vestidos de las mujeres que usan para bailar el flamenco son muy bellos.

Algunas escuelas empiezan en septiembre y terminan en junio, como en españa. Lo único que tienen diferente es que los estudiantes no pueden ir a casa para almorzar. Los apartamentos son muy diferentes a los de los estados unidos. Los apartamentos de españa tienen colores muy vibrantes, los de los EEUU son de un color neutral. Cuestan casi lo mismo alquilar un apartamento en espana que en los EEUU. El precio más bajo que mire fue de $450 al mes.

Muchos jóvenes van al centro commercial los fines de semana para compartir tiempo con amigos en españa, también en los EEUU. Es muy popular ir al centro commercial hoy en dia. Las pulgas también son casi iguales, hay muchas cosas que comprar y puedes regatear precios con los vendedores. No hay muchos supermercados donde yo vivo, pero en las pulgas hay muchos puestos pequeños de fruta y vegetales. En españa hay supermercados grandes y llenos de comida.

The first thing I noticed is that there is no apostrophe s in any of the words in Spanish. In english we would say “Emily’s book” but in Spanish there is no apostrophe s, we would say “El libro de emily” not “Emil’s libro.” Another thing I have noticed is that Spanish nouns have a gender. In Spanish every noun is considered to be either masculine or feminine and it is crucial to know the difference in order for you sentence to make sense. I’ve also noticed that adjectives come after the noun. For example, El traje negro, it means “The black suit” but it’s literally “The suit black.”

I had an advantage of already knowing this language since the moment I was able to talk, it was not much of a challenge, but I did enjoy learning new vocabulary.
