I took a few different risk in the studies. I got out of my comfort zone with some abstract pieces, many paint applications, and adding pen to a painting 
2. I explored with pen and painting together. I am interested in this because I had fun doing it along with the results that came from the final product.
3. The studies that were the most “successful” to me were the pen incorporated into paintings, the grey blocking and then adding blue to it, and adding white onto a dark surface. Adding pen to a painting just has a different feel to it as you look at it. Its not something you would usually expect to see, and the product comes out super nice. Then a color over a grey blocking comes out well, the grey enhances the pop of the blue. Finally, adding white to a dark background was a fun idea that I’ve never done before and it came out really well. The white would then blend with the black to make a grey scale that would then work well and limits the amount of mixing. 
4. The study that didn’t work well for me was the painting of just using a pallet knife. In the future I would probably be more strategic on how I use the pallet knife and pre-plan how I would place the paint on the canvas. 
5.
