The market revolution impacted the Northeast and Midwest through the establishment of a middle class. The market revolution, and the factory system, facilitated the development of a middle class in the Northeast and Midwest, which led to more economic equality in these regions. In the South, the market revolution led to increased agricultural production. This increased production was the result of innovations in farming technology which increased efficiency. As farming production increased, so did the profitability of agriculture, leading to an increase in the usage of the slave system.

The market revolution had a major impact on all regions of the United States. In the Northeast, manufacturing grew, and the region industrialized, in the Midwest, trade boomed new access to markets in the Northeast and along the Mississippi River, brought about by innovations in canals and steamships; The South experienced a massive boom in its slave-based economy due to the invention of the cotton gin, which increased the profitability of cotton by fifty-fold. These effects from the market revolution furthered the regional differences in the country, ultimately contributing to the Civil War decades later.

A large railroad system began growing throughout these regions during the market revolution giving them a more efficient way of travel over land, and faster routes for trade and shipping. The railroads impact on all three became most prevalent due to its creation in the market revolution causing a similar effect in each of these regions.

The market revolution had a great impact n the Northeast by shifting its economy to an industrial, factory based one. This was due tot he introduction of the factory site along with it abundance of rivers to supply power. It had an impact on the Midwest by increasing agricultural production of grain and an increase in the immigration to the Midwest for farming from Germany. The market revolution impacted the South by the introduction of the cotton gin. This allowed cotton production to become much more profitable and as a result, slavery and the production of cotton became the most prevalent and permanent systems in the South.

The market revolution had a great impact on the Northeast, Midwest, and the South as it lead to new transportation advancements. To promote economic growth and development in the Northeast they used canals and trains to transport goods. The Midwest also constructed railroads and made steamboats to easily travel far distances and connect them with the national economy. In the South, they used railroad and river navigation to promote trade in the South improving access to trade. These new innovations of trade helped people easily travel across America improving the economic state of America, ultimately connecting the Northeast, Midwest, and South all thanks to innovations made during the Market Revolution.

During the market revolution in the United States, technology, agriculture, and commerce advanced quickly. These developments affected the north in a good way because now that there are more factories, people can get more jobs instead of just making money from crops which were harder to grow in the northeast. This also affected the south in a positive way due to the agricultural advancements. The new technology that made farming more efficient helped with the economy because farmers could produce things quicker so they could sell more. A railroad system was built headed west which helped with trade and transportation. This helped the west grow with their population and their economy.

The market revolution greatly impacted the Northeast, Midwest, and the South through the various industrial and mechanical innovations. The North was most affected by the creation of factories. This boosted the North’s economy, as they would base their lifestyles off of industrializing. The Midwest was most affected by the steel plow. This greatly increased the agricultural production in the Midwest as they could produce multiple times more crops. This led to an increase in trade and food. The South was most affected by the cotton gin. This greatly influenced the production of cotton and the use of slaves as now they could pick cotton extremely more efficiently. This led to the South relying on this production and the use of slaves.

The market revolution greatly and diversely impacted the Northeast, Midwest, and Southern regions of the United States. The Northeast was greatly impacted by the great increase of factories, the Midwest was greatly impacted by waves of internal migration, and the Southern regions were greatly impacted by the invention of the cotton gin and its effects on slavery. The increase of factories in the Northeast lead to more unskilled workers being able to find work, including women and children who were previously not working for profit, they could now work in factories and live there too under the Lowell system. The Midwest was greatly impacted by the revolution through internal waves of migration that caused more people to move out west looking for economic systems free from slavery limitations while still preserving an agricultural economy. Finally the South was greatly impacted by the revolution through inventions like the cotton gin that sped up the production of cotton thus increasing demand for slave labor to to keep up with production.

The market revolution had an impact on the North through the innovation of interchangeable parts in 1801. This helped the manufacturing industry of the North grow in size and production. It didn’t help the South or the Midwest because the south was a slave based agrarian society, and the Midwest was not focused on factories, they were focused on continuing the trade routes through the US. The Midwest was affected by the invention of the Steam engines in 1802, because it helped them to connect with the east more efficiently and effectively because it would take less time to go by train then it would be if they went by horse or wagon. It affected the whole country by increasing the amount of communication that could go between the sections of the country. The South was helped by the market revolution in the invention of the cotton gin in 1793. The cotton gin allowed the slaves to harvest fifty pounds of cotton per day instead of one. This allowed the south to sell and trade more cotton than they had previously been able to. It didn’t affect the North or the Midwest because they didn’t have the climate for growing cotton and they were more manufacturing and paid labor based then the agrarian and slave based society that the South had.

The market Revolution impacted the Northeast, the Midwest, and the South by changing the workforce with new agricultural inventions as well as communication. For example, the Cotton Gin, in 1793, affected all with the increased demand for enslaved labor. Along with the Cotton Gin, Morse code impacted the way people could now communicate. This sent short and long bursts of electric currents in order to represent individual letters. These old inventions foreshadow some of the newer inventions that we have in our world today. Without them being discovered, who knows our world would look like today.

In the South, the Market Revolution transformed agriculture with the invention of the cotton gin, which greatly increased cotton production on plantations. The North experienced a rapid growth of the urban middle class, a new economic group that was wealthy enough to own homes and only have the men in the family work, but not as rich as the upper class. In the Midwest, the establishment of canals and railroads connected the people living their to ports in the Northeast, allowing the Midwestern economy to flourish. Over all, the Market Revolution strengthened the economy of the United States, but also led to shifting demographics throughout the country.

The development of the Erie Canal affected the regions by helping to link people together and creating an easier system for people to get around during this time.
