ADSY Crosswalks with HB4545/STAAR Testing Data

Can you offer any ideas on what to do for districts that are truly trying to utilize ADSY to address HB4545 requirements for students who failed STAAR tests? As I understand it official STAAR scores for 2023 will not be finalized until late July 2023 and an ALC meeting must be held prior to the intervention being provided. What should districts do to have their 2023 Summer ADSY program count for 2023 STAAR Score HB4545 interventions/remediation? Is there a waiver? Can we hold ALC meetings prior to the scores being finalized? Any assistane you can offer would be appreciated. (Brandi Wallek, Goliad ISD)

Funds are typically distributed about 2-3 weeks after paperwork is complete (Sharon, TIN)

During the Summer program do the classes need to be self-contained? And can the enrichment be conducted by outside personnel? Our school is departmentalized so last year we did self-contained classes but the Eureka teacher wasn't familiar with the Amplify program and vice versa.

We need to contain our summer learning to end by the last day of June in order to get community (parent, teachers, staff) buy-in. Has anyone used days prior to summer to implement summer learning in order to meet the number of days required? We plan on using Saturdays in May for PD but we will still need at least one proram day based on the calendar.

When considering field trips as a part of the ADSY Summer Program, we ask that:

Field trips should not routinely encroach on essential academic time.
If considering field trips as part of the 3-hour requirement of academics, field trip objectives must be tied to TEKS and LEAs must be able to provide the rationale of connection.
Field trips are limited to a maximum of 6 days for the entire summer program.

LASO Cycle 2 ADSY SLA awards were allocated using the following:

$25 x ADSY eligible participating students x Summer 2024 program days (minimum of 20 and up to 30 days)

Updated January 29, 2024: After allocating available funds using the above formulas, awards may be increased proportionally to allocate any remaining funding (if any). All additional funds are subject to availability and necessary adjustments.

As of September 2023, LEAs are now required to have an armed guard on campus on "regular school days." Is the ADSY summer program considered a regular school day? This would add a significant cost to the summer program.
