The vocabulary we use matters. It can influence the way our kids feel about their safety and acceptance. In addition, when we use words that are less than what they are capable of learning and understanding then we are inadvertently letting them know that we don't think they are smart enough. We must use vocabulary that challenges them to think and surrounds them with love.

A lot of our students do not have someone to be positive in their lives. We might be it. So make it count.

It costs nothing to be kind. Children learn best by watching how the adults around them act and interact with others. It's important as a child's teacher to make sure to work towards cultivating meaningful relationships with students.
