1. many students mentioned that they liked seeing their friends, liked the supportive environment and that they had teachers who cared
2. I saw a lot of comments about favoritism towards some students ('haves' vs. 'have nots'); several mentioned that they struggle to sit through long classes or needed more engaging activities during a long class
3. there were also concerns about academics and AP classes (we could possibly have more communication with students about online AP possibilities); maybe some anti-bullying training to help us know what to look for...I think we all try to be aware, but obviously it is going on based on student comments

1. We offer lots of good opportunities for students through sports, clubs, MOWR, CTAE, and other organizations such as chorus.
2. We need to improve our relationships with our students and our students relationships with each other. Many people mentioned teacher favoritism and bullying as being issues.
3. I think we need to do a better job of building relationships and not putting so much pressure on students as far as testing goes. We sometimes make them feel like a score, rather than people. I think we could also have more activities that are fun that help our students feel like more of a family.

The students for the most part seem to like the faculty, staff, and administration and the supportive, friendly atmosphere of the school.
2.The students remarked about favoritism and racism which I just do not see, but I guess since it is on there multiple times it must be...of course the food issue needs to be addressed and it is my hope that we will have soccer added to sports available at ACHS and, as time goes on, more AP classes offered. I also think we need ROTC and Art classes back
3. The favoritism and racism issues need to be addressed...specifics on when/where it is occurring will have to be identified first; it would be nice if we could have more fun and interesting activities and assemblies for the students.

They mentioned AP, CTAE Pathways, Extra Curricular Teams/ Activities and others.
2. We need to improve our school lunches-portion size, food choices/selections, and cooking methods.
3. Students need to identify what is good/positive/enjoyable in the lunchroom. Then ACHS could allow students to identify the things that are least enjoyable. This could start a working list that is student centered and identify biggest needs and changes. There are so many things that are required when planning lunchroom meals so identifying what they like most could be a starting point.

It is understandable that some (probably most) of our students feel that they have to wake up too early, but I am not sure how we can address this as a school.

Obviously, the school nutrition options are lacking. Also, I see students who are looking for a "family" in their school.
3. To improve "family" in our school, we need to provide opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities during the school day. This would increase involvement for students who do not have any transportation other than the bus.

Discuss options from counties near us and what they offer. Have options available for like pizza or hamburger purchases one day a month or maybe a free delivery day for reward. Use this as a discussion piece to get the students talking about what they mean because at times what they suggest as favoritism may not necessarily be favoritism in the teachers eyes. AP classes are being pushed and we are attempting that already. Maybe student surveys of what they want offered would help. I guess Chemistry will have be to more enjoyable.. My personal GOAL!!!

Ellis: 1. I was encouraged by the remarks that teachers are encouraging students to do their best and that teachers are caring and supportive. 2. I was intrigued by the student response that most teachers don't see the importance of vocational classes and that teachers don't always teach like they do when an administrator is present. I was concerned over comments of not feeling safe because of bullying and fighting. I wasn't surprised to see lunchroom food over and over and over. 3. I don't think we have any control over improving the cafeteria food, but maybe one day soon that will change. We need to find ways to boost morale and find ways to help students feel safe at our school. We need to let our students know that what they think and feel is important and that their feedback is used in making decisions in our school.
