A building is a structure that has walls and a roof. Different buildings are used for different things. These buildings were made of enormous stone blocks that were cut out so precisely that they did not need to use cement to hold the blocks together. These strong stone walls were connected so well, you couldn't even slide a piece of paper between them. The most common type of Inca house was rectangular that has a thatched roof and usually has only one room.

Sources: Textbook (pg. 430) and https://www.dkfindout.com/us/history/incas/inca-houses/

Inca used wasn't just used for transportation, they were also used for communication, and government administration. These Inca roads symbolized the Inca government's power. The Incas built roads in almost every terrain like coasts, deserts, forests, grasslands, plains, and mountains. Due to Incas having no wheeled vehicles, some roads had steps cut into the hillsides that were about 3-6 feet wide so it was wide enough for people and llamas to walk on foot.

Sources: Textbook (pgs. 432-433)

Like today, Inca bridges are used to get from one place to another and there are different types of bridges used for different things. Suspension bridges were made up of thick rope to hold up the walkway. Trunk bridges are the simplest of all bridges and were made out of 2-4 logs. These leaned on rocks or small towers built in places where the banks narrowed more. hanging bridges were made of hemp ropes and braided strings of Ichu. Stone bridges are very similar to the trunk bridges but are made of a different material. Oroyas consisted of a type of cable of a very thick hemp rope that was attached to thick trees that were used to slide through them. Floating bridges were used to cross above water and were made with different plant plant fibers

Sources: https://study.com/academy/lesson/inca-achievements-inventions-lesson-for-kids.html

https://www.allincatrail.com/inca-bridges-one-wonders-of-ancient-times
