Everybody concerned should be involved as we need support by policy makers to provide infrastructure, parents to consent to new methods, learners to accept technology. We have to include ICT where it is a + and develop new methodologies to go along with new technology, ideally opening up learning. Teachers would be a group highly qualified for that. I agree with Diana in 99.9 percent. But I have some doubts in reality. For instance, yes teachers are willing to assess themselves, test their competence and find a way/ways to go further. But are we sure to say this for all teaches? I don’t think so. And we can’t say that they are in minority to assimilate. Here the question comes..How can we involve them? Using ITC in schools is essential nowadays as most of our students use it in their personnal lives and when they get to a school/class with traditional methods, that is far from what they want or wish both in contents as in strategies, they tend to not get involved and the results are frequentlly negative. I agree that we should take part of the benefits that technology offers us in the teacheing area, and also that the knowledge and competence in using it comes from collaborative practices. This collaborative attitude should be extended to all the system, even in the relation between teachers and policy makers, as it is the only way to really adress the needs that all the involved experience.

I think that innovation in education technology is stronger than ever today. For example, great opportunities are coming, thanks to virtual reality, cloud tecnnologies and mobile devices (I teach using BYOD method with all my students). It is possible to define the teacher profession as the profession of the changement. I too, as other teachers have already written, I agree with Diana, new technologies can be, if correctly used and inserted within a frame of meaning, dispensers of considerable added value not only in the teaching process - learning, but also in the whole of the multiple questions and new needs posed by our society and by everyday life. The only place-institution that can make explicit this added value, which can educate to the use of a technology that, certainly is not without risks, which can clearly delineate the frame of meaning within which to insert the Technologies of information and communication, it is the school, and it is unfortunately currently still very little equipped to respond to this task and for the most part it is hard to keep up with the ever faster process of growth and diversification of knowledge .

In order to constructively think about information and communication technologies in the field of teaching, and consequently make a conscious use of them, it is necessary to consider them to all effects of cognitive technologies, or technologies that have deep and undeniable implications in cognitive processes. and thinking of the people who use them, similarly to writing, pen, etc.
The school must be aware of the profound reflections they have on the development of different forms of thought and knowledge with respect to the printed book.

The effectiveness of use of ICT in teaching depends very much on the contextual situation within which they are used: effectiveness increases when there is support and encouragement of school leaders, a climate of collaboration between colleagues and the habit of sharing of the experiences made, a habit of training teachers on the non-episodic topic, but an integral part of the professional path and its development and especially where the use of ICT is not sporadic.

Information and communication technologies involve a change in the teacher's role, in line with the transformation of the learning environment that they require. The new model ceases to be "teacher-centered", the teacher loses the traditional function of center of authority, of transmitter of knowledge, to take on the role of director and orchestrator of learning situations, of process facilitator.
ICTs open to the unexpected and require the teacher new forms of flexibility and also the courage and awareness deriving from the abandonment of educational paths in which everything is perfectly programmed.

Efficacy in the educational use of ICT is influenced by teachers' perceptions of these technologies and the trust they have in their pedagogical value.

To make sure that technologies at the service of teaching fully exercise their potential in the classes of the future, we must take into account the motivations and abilities of the students, which should not be overestimated, but also the stakes within which teachers move, among official programs and their preferences and abilities. Perhaps we need to get rid of some "dogmas" and create spaces for experimenting with didactics and innovative learning environments. If the interactive whiteboard is only used to project a lecture, and computers (or smartphones) to search for answers to factual questions, we will not be very helpful to students. Even the most advanced technology can not remedy the lack of motivation of students and teachers; but, placed in the hands of competent teachers, who use it in response to an educational need, will be able to amplify the ability to make children grow.

I agree too. TET is the way to the future, we cannot do without ICT anymore whatever subject we teach. The school itself must be re-thought and the teacher cannot be the centre of the universe anymore. Students get information from any possible sources and if we can use ICT properly we can tune in with them making learning a fascinating journey. What is very important however is that technology is perceived by teachers as a necessary element of their formation. We must include it in our daily activities and our plans of formation, not as episodic corurses exclusively theoretical but as a practical way of thinking. Many teachers do not use ICT because they do not think they are able to do so and this is due to the fact that any course we have gone thorough especially in Italy is superficial and you feel unease at the end of it.
If more practical and graded courses have been delivered maybe more teachers would be keen on improving their competences.
