Students take red and green markers. The teacher says a word out loud which may or may not include the desired sound. Students have to raise the green marker if it contains the desired sound, and the red one if it doesn't.

Phonic basketball

The class is split into 2 teams, which make lines in front of 2 baskets. Each basket represents a sound. The teacher says a word, and the member of each team at the beginning of the line tries to throw a ball into the corresponding basket.

To be more conscious about the sound, we practiced it with the gesture (hand in front of one's mouth). Students would feel the hot air on their hands when they said a word that included the sound.
