I want to remember Eveline's sense of guilt. Because we have lots of rules to respect in the society where we live. We have to be good sons and daughters, good parents, good students, good workers, good friends and so on.
We oftenhave to hide our real feelings and our wishes, because we can't do everything we want. Our society imposes us some "mental limits". I can say that thanks to Eveline's experience I have learnt that being conscious of <del>ourself </del>ourselves is fundamental! It's important to be sincere with <del>ourself </del>ourselves in order<del> to don't</del> not to be in agony in our everyday life.
Eveline doesn't know if she wants to leave or if she is in love with Frank. She is really confused and this makes her depressed, paralysed by her fears. In our life we are called to makes choices and in order to make the right one we have to follow our dreams and feelings. This is possible only if we know ourselves really well!

I want to remember the <del>the </del>effect of all choices we do in our life.
If Eveline had not thought about the consequences of her <del>desition </del>decision maybe she <del>had </del>would have<del> </del>regretted it later. I think it´s important to think carefully about our future life, even more when it <del>with </del>involves someone else.I think it´s also important to remember that we can´t judge someone just from his bad decision. I thought a lot about her father and I feel sorry for him and even more for Eveline and her brothers. He was a good man and a good father in the past, but he had to go through a lot of bad times, like Eveline´s mother death. These hardships changed his personality a lot.
It´s difficult to <del>choice </del>choose just one word to describe what I have learnt, but I think it's compassion.
Compassion because it's what Eveline feels for <del>his </del>her father: she undestands the pain he felt and she forgives him, even if he was violent.
I already knew she would not leave her family, because she was never 100% sure about her choice. I <del>think </del>believe that if you think <del>a lot</del> too much about one choice, <del>its </del>it may mean that it´s not the right one.
An "aha" moment to me was when she described her childhood. I <del>thought </del>expected it would be as bad as her present, but it was not. I thought a lot about this point and I realized how good it is describe <del>the </del>our real life: you can never know what could happen. Sometimes people change, sometimes they remain always <del>still </del>the same. <del>but </del>However<del>, </del>if they were very important to you once, the beautiful memories of them will stay with you forever.

The thing that impressed me most is the theme of the incapability to escape.
Eveline has the <del>occasion </del>opportunity to flee from <del>his </del>her miserable condition, but she’s blocked by her responsibilities. Sometimes, I feel that the perception of duties is more important than <del>my </del>our own ambitions. However, <del>but </del>it is fundamental to remember that we have to put aside what other people say or think and be free to live our own life.
Awareness is an important concept in Eveline’s experience and in our <del>one </del>own life because it is the force that can let us enjoy every single moment. It is known that self-consciousness is a way <del>to be</del> that can help us live a significant life. Many times we overthink about everything, and this leads to building doubts that <del>doesn’t </del>do not exist. It is with the help of our memory that we can handle these problems and be able to acquire the consciousness that we need!
I sincerely didn’t expect Eveline’s decision at the end, but that is the most intense and thought-provoking scene of the entire story!

She spends an unhappy life: she has a job that <del>doesn't</del> she is not satisfied with, a violent father, she feels trapped. Therefore she is looking for a way out beyond the static Dublin, which apparently seems to be the only solution. Leaving with Frank could revolutionize her life and her mood.
Even though Frank is at her side, she is not convinced to leave and prefers to remain immersed in her gray, in her nauseating daily life and in her unhappy habitual <del>security </del>safe condition.
This teaches us that a person can be influenced in a thousand ways and by <del>a</del> hundreds of people, but what really matters are his/her thoughts, <del>his</del> emotions and <del>his</del> way of seeing things.
We have to put aside what people say and we have to live our lives <del>and</del> being <del>its</del> protagonists.
Although Eveline has the opportunity to leave Dublin with Frank, she doesn't <del>want</del> find the courage to leave the city because she wants to keep the promise made to <del>his</del> her dead mother.
And that's probably what <del>she</del> <del>really wants. </del>blocks her life

What really has struck me in this story is <del>the</del> Eveline's inability <del>of</del> to react and leave her country.
The fact that she decides to stay in her small village with her father is surprising because if she had left with Frank, she would have had the possibility to lead a new life. She could have led her existence without the worries, the heavy responsibilities that she has always had and the arguments with her father. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the reason why Eveline doesn't leave with Frank has to do with her subconscious: this activity of our brain is, sure enough, uncontrollable and makes us do unexpected things. As I see it, the condition of Eveline in this story is common to many human beings because we often give up doing something for fear of the unknown or of making mistakes. We should follow our emotions, feelings and desires without worries because in the future we might regret not having done what we really wanted to do.

No matter what awaits us, we often try to keep up normality in our lives.

In the case of Eveline, in the end she will neglect a good opportunity to leave her father behind and live her life away from it all with Frank., Eveline feels that the promise she had made to her mother means more than her wellbeing.

I want to remember <del>the</del> Eveline's braveness, which is shown in all the aspects and situations of her life. <del>On the face of it, it appears that</del> Although Eveline <del>is</del> seems to be innocent and helpless, <del>but</del> in reality she is a very strong, <del>and</del> responsible woman.

Today I learned that sometimes it is hard to make a choice even if you are aware that it would lead to something new and totally amazing, a fresh start and a brand new life in her case. You feel a sense of responsibility and duty towards everything that surrounds you.

One word that sums up what I learnt could be ‘growth’. At the beginning, Eveline was convinced about her decision. She <del>was</del> felt oppressed by her condition in Dublin and saw Frank as an opportunity to be free and joyous in another country, to be finally loved and appreciated after a life of fear and pain.

So her first reaction is to escape immediately. However at the end, few moments before leaving, she rethinks of her choice and her mind is brought back to the promise she made to her mother. This is what eventually persuades her not to go. I believe that her final decision is not due to an action of cowardice or fear, but the effect of a true epiphany.

This story has taught <del>thought</del> me that leaving everything behind isn’t as easy as it seems, even if it means experiencing a wonderful adventure. I’m still confused about her final decision though, I understand the reasons, but I would’ve left in any case, reaching out for what future would have <del>had</del> in store for me.

Eveline decided that the promise she<del>'ve</del> she had made to her mother was more important than everything else. That's why she stayed in Dublin.
A word to sum up what I learnt would be "fear" because honestly I think that she's really scared to leave her world behind and to start again her life in Buenos Aires. She desires a new life with the man she’s in love with.
Eveline is influenced by the external world and she is not able to think about herself but she worries about other people.
Something I learned is that risks are better than regrets.
