Carbs make you gain weight.
Truth: Carbohydrates cannot solely cause weight gain, weight gain is caused when the energy consumed is larger than the total expenditure. This myth has most likely arised as food has become more readily available and consumers have began to eat more than in the past, since the 1970s total energy intakes have increased by 1800 kj per day. Almost all of this energy came from an increase in carbohydrate intake.
