A beautiful poetry book about how a young girl can go through so much in her life and can blossom into a young woman no matter what battle she faces. This book shares so many life lessons and has beautiful quotes within. WOULD NOT USE IN A CLASSROOM!!!! But is a very good independent book series for mature women!

This book is a great lesson to teach young kids. It takes some digging to understand the deeper meaning but this book shows that people go through different things in life, and some have a negative effect on people. Some people don't understand what it is like to be "good" but it takes time.

I loved this book as a kid, I always thought it was so funny! Towards the end of the book, it shows that sharing is always a good thing to do, even if you don't want to. Even though you might not get everything you ask for, it will turn up one way or another.

This is a great book for higher level reading, has a lot of imagery and is good for higher elementary independent reading. This book shows that not everything relies on fate and how things will work themselves out even when you don't feel like they will. A great life lesson of "everything happens for a reason."

Read this in Dr. R's class and we used it as a book to turn into theatre to help younger readers understand the book better by bringing it into real life. So, I would say this is a great book to bring to life and it a good read aloud book, as it has a lot of repetitive words.

A very good book for a weather lesson plan. Simple words and short with lots of picture to cover the page! Independent or read-aloud book for a whole lesson! You can also do a lesson on rhyming as each sentence on the same page rhyme! "I see kites up in the sky..... I see clothes hanging up to dry."

Another cute book for young readers but as an adult reader you can see the deeper meaning of being able to have a bunch of friends that don't all look the same! The tortoise has many different friends and shows a deeper meaning of diversity throughout friends!

I Am Rosa Parks

I personally love this book, but any of the I Am books are so informational for young readers. I never liked history as a kid so being able to learn history through a book like this was so beneficial. It takes a deep dive into the life of Rosa Parks and shows kids that you can stand up for yourself and standing up for yourself will inspire others around you.

Goes through all of the different emotions someone can feel and gives certain situations in which you might feel these specific emotions. This is a great book to go back to if a student is having a hard time identifying their own emotion. Would be great in a trauma informed classroom.

I personally loved this book as a kid, I use to make my mom read it to me all the time and it was just a good at home book for me. This was always in my school library too. This shows an unrealistic consequence when asking for something over and over and then not getting your way. In this book for example she ate too many pink cupcakes, so she turned pink as her consequence. Unrealistic but also shows the outcome of cause and effect.

This book introduces the importance of patience and what good can come when you wait it out. This is all about a caterpillar who cannot wait to become a butterfly but because he's so impatient it feels like it is taking much longer than it actually is.

Dave felt like he was falling behind and could never be brave enough to do anything. His brother was very brave, but Dave felt like he didn't do anything right. It shows towards the end that people can be brave in other aspects. This is a bit longer so I think it would be a great read aloud book to teach how to express your confidence and braveness.

This book is a great look into how a person can make your day, it doesn't have to be the weather or what you do, it just matters who you're with. This book is a good simple independent read or if you want to teach the bigger lesson you can do a read aloud.

There is always a deeper meaning behind things, we just have to look a little closer, and that's what this book teaches kids. This teaches kids a lot about curiosity too and the good outcomes that come from being curious.

This book always startled me as a kid in some way but it also put into my head that sometimes when we overthink, we start to believe that those things will actually happen but in reality, it never will. This would be an independent book for experienced readers, it is quite long. Camilla tried to change what she likes because of other people but it turned out trying to change herself for others wasn't any better.

This book goes into great depth for a young reader about how and acorn forms and soon develops into a tree. This book is a great fit for first graders and what they need to know about acorns because it follows through the acorns whole cycle of life. It is also an object kids see all the time and we often underestimate the meaning of an acorn as we think it is just a waste of space or clutter on the lawn, but they have the great potential to become a tree, and I think that will fascinate a young reader. It also has great imagery, and the words are not too difficult for a young reader, but would also be a great read aloud book for a science lesson.

National Geographic Readers: Monarch Butterflies
