This was because the act was controversial as food supplies were decreasing as the nation desperately needed food. Following reform and policies that prioritize the management of crop prices and soil conservation, the act was ratified again in 1938 and is still in effect to this day.</p>]]></description>

It developed codes of fair competition to govern whole industries. It established minimum wages for workers and minimum prices for goods that businesses sold.</p>]]></description>

Created at the same time, the Federal Security Agency assumed the WPA's responsibility for the National Youth Administration. It was eventually terminated during WW2 as unemployment was no longer an issue.</p>]]></description>
