The article is a speech of why the death penalty should be maintained, and as to how it helps the justice system. Rhetoric appeals used in the sources include ethos, which as effective because they helped convey the emotions of victims' families as well as the criminals. The source helps clarify the topic by stating the benefits of the death penalty in terms of bringing criminals to justice. The article is biased because the speaker's husband was murdered, and she supports the death penalty because of it. The usefulness is a first-handed experience of why the death penalty is important, as it helped bring the killer of her husband to justice.

The article is an essay by Richard c dieter, a law graduate and executive director of the Death penalty information center. rhetoric appeals used were logos and Pagos, which was effective because a law graduate talks about law school and the laws regarding the death penalty. The source helps clarify the topic by providing statistics of both crime rates as well as death sentence rates. The article is biased, because the writer only mentions one side of the topic. The usefulness is providing statistics of crime rates, death sentence rates, moral problems, and hypocrisy in the law.

The article is a preface. rhetoric appeals used in the sources include logos, which were effective in showing the statistics of the death penalty states and cases. The source complicates the topic by arguing both sides. The article has weakness due to the incredibility, because the person writing the article is using research from over 30 books, some of which being heavily biased. The usefulness is information as to how the death sentence is seen as immoral from religious standpoints, as well as how it is beneficial in terms of crime rates.
