Archie and Eric 



Archie Swift MBE (right) and Eric Salthouse (left) were each involved with the club for more than 60 years. Archie was awarded the ‘Salford Citizen of the Month’ in April 2004 for his lifetime work as a volunteer at the club. In 2006 Archie was awarded an MBE for his work with young people at Salford Lads Club.  Eric was named as ‘My Hero’ by Manchester entrepreneur Dave Tynan in the June 2004 edition of Social Enterprise magazine.

- There are no tram stops and few train stations (Walkden & Irlam are only ones) towards that end of Salford so this would make transport around Salford a lot simpler and quicker as currently it is mainly just buses.

But I'd rather run a focus on the spaces for teens. There are little to no safe spaces for youth which can lead to antisocial behaviour but also children being on the streets to hang out.
In the case of Saul Cookson who died after a police chase following anti social behaviour.
