It occurred from 1825 to 1840. Pioneers, mountain men, manufactures, merchants, and other people all moved to the west. It was significant because a lot of people moved to the west. Mountain men first started the west craze because they were trying to find beaver fur, soon everyone started to move west. Trails were even created! A list is provided below this. People would try to get money by buying large amounts of lands and waiting for the property price to increase. The Oregon trail was a trail that connected Missouri to Oregon. 

The Mormon Trail was a trail that used the Oregon trail, and was for people who were part of the church of Jesus Christ.
