Professional Development Schools, also known as PDS, are school-university partnerships aiming to train teacher candidates and support teacher leadership.&nbsp; The authors also seek to combat misconceptions about the term. Teacher leaders play a strong role in the establishment, development, and growth of any PDS program. Beyond mentoring teacher candidates, teacher leaders in a PDS may also train mentors. PDS partnerships provide a strong community for learning and growth for all involved (2021).</div>]]></description>

         <title>The First Year in Teaching: Changes in Beginning Teachers’ Visions and Their Challenges</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This qualitative study examines the changing feelings of teachers in their first year on the job. Notably, the researchers found that new teachers entered their jobs with high confidence in content knowledge, but through the year this confidence dropped as they assisted struggling students. Additionally, the researchers noted that the new teachers started their year with low confidence in classroom management despite their teacher training programs.&nbsp; New teachers cited teacher leaders who helped mentor them as they started their careers.&nbsp; As a group of teachers with a wide range of experience, I found it interesting to reflect upon changes in our confidences and think back to who helped us most in the beginning of our careers (2019).</div>]]></description>
