I would love it if we can use this as an area to think about how we can really get better at getting better and share good practice and our reflections on our CPL (Continued Professional Learning).          <title>Assessment during a class. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I find formative assessment a challenge so am exploring more effective approaches that help me to quickly identify where I focus my support or adapt during a lesson. I find this especially difficult in Maths, where the students can be superb in one area but then struggle in the next. I find myself struggling to get through enough of their books/whiteboards during a lesson to check that I'm supporting the right students. I've tried exit tickets but they involve extra admin and asking the kids to show me their confidence levels with a thumbs up varies in accuracy depending on personalities. There are lots of tech-reliant solutions that require 30 devices but am keen to try Plickers. Plickers lets you poll your class for free, without the need for student devices. Just give each student a card (a “paper clicker”), and use your Android smartphone or tablet to scan them to do instant checks-for-understanding, exit tickets, and impromptu polls. Data is automatically saved, student-by-student, at plickers.com so could be downloaded and used for evidence too. It can be used offline, so not a problem where there's no wifi. I plan to give it a go and will feed back how well it works.&nbsp;<br>(Em)&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
