Were these motives and cause for exploration harmless?
I think the exploration motives and causes were not harmless what so ever. Making trade routes and discovering them does not harm any one whether you like who goes in your land or not. Selling gold and gold that is bought is not a bad thing. I think conquering land without fighting however capturing instead is better than killing. Also with the peace treaty it makes everyone happy in there own land. Trying to get wealthy buy buying goods such as spices and silk and gold is fine. Overall none of the motives or causes during the exploration harm anyone.

In my opinion Cortes did not know anything or had no knowledge about what an expedition really was. I think for him, his goal was to kill in order to reach his goals. Something he had not kept in mind was, there is always another way out of it. One word I would use to describe Cortes is Ruthless. I think he emobies the complete opposite of what an expedition is really about.

Were the English and French any different from the Spanish when they reached the New World? I think they were slightly different. During the English and French alot more of the converting people, took place. It was like they would conquer land and then convert natives into christians. However during the Spanish, it was more of getting rich and conquering for wealth, however converting took place but not all the time. Sometimes it would be enslaving them instead of converting them. I definitely think they were different but at the same time similar in their own way.

I definitely think that the age of exploration was a time of invasion. Many people invaded to conquer land. Also many people killed innocent people to get wealth for themselves. An expedition does not work like this. Harming and enslaving people with no mercy shown is ruthless and what people like Cortes did to get what he wanted. Also a lot of stealing took place. I think this Age of ¨Exploration¨ should be called the depressing age. The innocent got so much they didn't deserve but it was simply for the happiness of the non-innocent.
