During IM Lesson Studies, the district's math coach and I collected feedback from each team to determine their biggest takeaways as well as next steps the teachers would like to see.

Improved Support:

I work collaboratively with teachers to determine resources that can be used when additional support may be needed. This ranges from a variety of district instructional resources, to the Universal Number Sense Screener or additional small group interventions which correlate to the FastBridge/MRF progress monitoring that's being used.

Smekens Reading and Writing Conferences:

I attended Smekens Super Saturday Reading and Super Saturday Writing Conferences. These conferences aligned to our school improvement goals and have allowed me to share mini videos and resources with varying teams based on their individual goals. These are also something I often include in my monthly newsletters.

Jim Knight Trainings:

I, along with two other coaches, participated in the P-20 Network & NIU's Jim Knight training series for instructional coaching. These trainings focused on better conversations, the impact cycle, coaching for positive classrooms/student engagement, and coaching to increase student achievement. I have been able to incorporate what I've learned through my interactions with students and staff as well as our coaching cycles.

Monthly Newsletters:

I have a Coaching Corner which is posted on the school's online hub. Additionally, I share out a monthly newsletter. This newsletter consists of high quality content and resources which I have discussed with other coaches throughout the district or have implemented with teachers in our own building. This has been a great way to share some current practices and resources with staff, and highlight the amazing work they are doing.

Participating in the Professional Community:

I seek out opportunities to participate in various team and/or committee work. I am a part of the District's Science and Safety Committees and have often helped the SEL Squad. I have also attended all Institute Days, PLCs, SIP meetings, staff meetings and MTSS meetings (when my schedule allows).

Kagan Presentation:

Collaborated, planned and presented Kagan training with fellow coach at the beginning of the school year. This training was focused on the top 5 Kagan engagement strategies.

Monthly Coaches Meeting:

I attended a monthly district Learning Support Coach meeting focused on district-wide trends, the Instructional Model, and sharing of cycles/resources.

MAP Reading Fluency:

I have met with several coaches to assist with using MAP Reading Fluency. I have helped them understand how to read the various reports, form small groups, where to find intervention resources, and how to progress monitor students which they have then taken back to their teams.

IM Lesson Studies:

This year I have collaborated with the district's math coach to plan, prep and facilitate IM lesson studies for all grade levels. These lesson studies received wonderful reviews from staff and they are now implementing the strategies we discussed in their classrooms.

Coaching Cycle Meeting Agendas:

Cycle meeting agendas are created and shared with every team participating in a coaching cycle. This allows everyone to establish agreed upon procedures, refer to important notes and resources quickly, know what the topics of each meeting will be, track our conversations, and review all data. This is a planning tool we refer to at each meeting.

Results Based Coaching Tool:

A RBCT is completed along with each cycle to provide an accurate, up to date, and easily accessible guide to the work we are doing in cycles.

Along with each coaching cycle, I have created a goal-setting plan to be sure that the cycle is both student-centered and aligned with Isaac Fox's SIP plan as well as the D95 Instructional Model.

The Instructional Leadership Agenda (following the Diane Sweeney template) is updated weekly and used to guide discussion between myself and the building principal.

Throughout each coaching cycle, it is my goal that all staff (including myself) take away some new learning. I have worked with staff on development of technology resources to meet their success criteria, reviewed and co-taught Exemplars, side by side analysis of MAP growth and MRF reports, and ways to integrate authentic learning experiences for our students. Sweeney Trainings:

I participated in the district's Diane Sweeney learning modules with my mentor and a fellow coach. Through these modules we reflect on reading and make connections to our own coaching experiences so far. We are given valuable feedback that we can use moving forward.

Social-Emotional Learning is at the heart of every classroom in every district. It's critical that are students are working on these skills, as they are essential to building good character and a safe and welcoming learning environment.

Positive Greeting

Positivity is contagious. You never know what someone may be going through outside of school. This is why I make it a point to try to have a positive interaction with everyone I come across. In coaching, I have a "Relationship Log" which I use as I'm beginning to build those positive relationships with staff.

Along with Engage in Mathematical Practices, I use Van de Walle's Teaching Student-Centered Mathematics to engage teachers and students in effective research-based practices in the classroom.
