I was born and raised in Vietnam, and was living with my mom, aunts and grandma. My dad was living in the US. We are Vietnamese.

First Time in The US

When I turned 8, my mom and I got visas then went to the US to visit her friends and my dad's family. She was raising me as a single mom. My dad, being awesome, having a whole different family there.

Fortunately and unfortunately, the 4 years of middle school gave me some good but toxic friends, I met a lot of great people but most of them are THE definition of toxic. I also didn't hear anything from my dad those 4 years, since he didn't believe in me and considered me as a bad sister to his children.

Middle School Goodbyes

I eventually graduated middle school with so much dramas surrounding my friends and I, I ended up breaking up with all of them. After that, I spent the whole summer alone without talking to anyone but my cats and my family. It was a really hard time for me, though I've got through it.

My Loved Ones

With the trauma of having so much toxicity in friendship, I got into my dream high school with a goal of making new real friends, and I made that dream come true. I also met a lot of unique personalities, met a lot of good people. I bonded and created countless memories with my favorite people there.

Big Change in My Life

After finishing freshman and sophomore years, my US citizenship paper had been done, I flew to the US with nothing but memories of the people that I love back in Vietnam, we said goodbye in tears. While I was on that 22 hours flight, I dreamed of become rich, independent and happy in the future.
