<title>It was one of the hottest days of the summer holiday. Allison was sitting in the backyard of their house as usual, trying to entertain herself with her toys. Since all of her friends were out of town due to its being holiday, she had no one to play with except her friendly dog, Cinnamon. Although it was so much fun to play with Cinnamon, she frequently felt the frustration of not being able to spend time with her friends. Her parents were at work, she only had her grandmother with her and she was always busy with the housework and could not play with Allison. Sick of playing with the toys, Allison eventually decided to go back inside the house and see what her grandmother was up to. She quickly ran inside with Cinnamon behind her following.“Grandma, I’m so tired of playing with the same toys everyday! I miss my friends and I want to play with somebody real. I know that we can’t go on holiday because of mom and dad’s work but at least I want to be able to have fun here!”“Honey, I know that you are bored but there’s nothing I can do. See, I am busy here too. I have to clean, cook, do the laundry.. And God knows what else.. I’m sorry baby, I can’t join you but I have an idea that might be interesting for you. ““What’s that grandma?!”“I’m going to be cleaning the attic today, It’s all a mess up in there! There are lots of stuff there which I think you can enjoy discovering. Your grandfather’s stuff are there, too. Lord rest his soul. You may want to go through them and see what you like. Maybe you’ll find something interesting and fun. What do you say, honey?”Smiling like a cheshire cat, Allison said,“Of course grandma, I’d love to!”. “Okay then, follow me.” The attic was really messy. The yellow flickering light in the ceiling was the only source of illumination.“Oh my Goodness Gracious! I had no idea that it was this filthy! It’s gonna be a long day for me.. Ally, your grandfather’s belongings are over there in that chest. Let me help you get it out of here at once. I don’t want you to breath this dusty air anymore. “ After a short amount of time, Allison was at her room with the chest in front of her. Cinnamon was enthusiastically waiting for her to open it up and reveal what was inside. She opened the chest slowly. There were lots of stuff in there. A lot of books, notebooks, pieces of papers some kind of information written on them, files, maps, and a bunch of pictures of her grandfather in different places with different people with whom Allison was not familiar..Allison was so disappointed to see nothing interesting. She had thought that there would be something exciting to play with. She was just about to close the chest when she saw a small shiny book on which her name was written. “To Allison” it said. She grabbed the book in a hurry. Cinnamon was bustling around the room waiting for her to play with him. Allison opened up the book and on the first page of it there was a picture of her grandfather with a little baby in his lap. Allison had never seen this picture before. It was her and her grandfather. She was a bit concerned but at the same time curious to keep going. She flipped through the pages. There were a lot of writing and drawing as if they were explaining something. She thought to herself “I need to start from somewhere” and began reading from a random page. The information written in the pages was about a place which Allison had never heard of before. It was called “Paracosm” and it was full of people with no emotions. As she was reading through the pages, Allison was confused. She tried to figure out if it was a fairy tale her grandfather wrote for her. She knew that her grandfather was a writer. She was not able to remember much of him because he had passed away when Allison was little. Only memory she hardly remembered about him was the day he gave a necklace to her while reading a story before bed. Allison had worn it until it became too small for her, but even when she could no longer wear it, she kept it close to her because she thought it brought her luck. She wondered what this book was all about. Was this one of his stories? Why was her name written on the cover page? Not realizing what was coming next, she kept on reading. Paracosm was a place like the earth where there were humans, animals, plants living in it. All of its features resembled so much of the earth. But this world was lacking emotions. Everything was mechanical, superficial. It was colorless. Allison read and read and kept reading. The only thing she was thinking was that “It’s exactly like the earth, only difference is that its being emotionless.” When she came across a page where she saw the photo of her necklace, she was petrified. This was the first time she thought her necklace was not going to bring her any luck. Although she was scared of finding out something she might regret, she was an inquisitive girl; she had to learn what was going on. The mystery was revealed when she kept on reading. Paracosm was actually the earth at its normal version. Originally, every human being and living thing on earth was emotionless and the world was a colorless place in which everything was mechanical. The emotions, colors, basically the source of the life as we know it today came from the “The Core of Elysian” which was placed in the hidden island of “Trouvaille”. From the beginning of human race, a chosen one called “The Savior” replaced the dying stone every seven years. The chosen ones had been selected from royal blood families related to the original family of Saviors and this secret had been passed down to generations for millions of years. Allison ran back to her drawer and took out her necklace from its special box. She held it down close to the book and compared it to the picture. She was holding the Core of Elysian.</title>
