Some of the most motivating factors in my career is the gratitude families have for all the help and guidance I give them. I absolutely love helping families. Extrinsic factors that motivate me are all the hugs, thank you cards, gifts, and even being able to make them smile when they are experiencing the worst time of the life. Some intrinsic factors that motivate me is all the knowledge and history families share with me. I feel wiser and more understanding of the world around me every time families tell me their loved ones life stories. I perform every task as if the grieving family is my own, and the deceased is my love one.

I don’t think that every employee has the same motivation. I do believe everyone has to gain some sort of satisfaction to continue what they are doing though and sometimes those motivations are similar. I think the easiest way to find out what motivates someone is to simply ask. Some people might not have an answer right away, but they will think of one soon.
