We decided to create psychedelic visuals to attract the viewer. As well as this, we chose bright colours due to the younger audience, so it grabs their attention. We aim to give them a nostalgia of childhood with the cartoon vibe. We used bright and lighthearted colours with the contrast of the darker meaning to allow the audience to feel comfortable when reading, to connect greater with the information.

At a point we came to the time for our experimentation stage. This part of working is critical because it is important to allow the entire team to be able to share different ideas and collaborate them. At the beginning of the process, it started off very modern, with an editorial twist to it. There was a theme of slightly paler colours in our illustrations, which we decided it would not be engaging enough and it wouldn’t be aimed at the correct audience in which we are focusing on. So, we started to put a lot more focus into the colours and how that would interfere the images itself. 

At this point, we all agreed that the images at hand needed to have a brighter and more vibrant aesthetic, so we started looking at adding more vibrancy and variety into the designs. This led us onto the psychedelic style of imagery, which would later become our theme. We believe that this has a more engaging and sellable outcome.

-as bg research we all watched social dilemma and then did more individual looking into the issue with articles, books, interviews of chomsky, statistics of teenage depression/sh/suis, etc

-created a padlet board for artists that inspired us and shared it together to get more inspiration from each other, been working well with being in diff countries w the usage of technology that we’ve harnessed

-looked at existing zines to get inspiration and shared these too in the padlet board 

-overall good bg research and working well within the group regarding sharing info

 

Sway is very versatile platform and allows large audiences to view it. Additionally, the outcome is sellable and editorial due to the composition format options, allowing it to appear professional despite the experience behind it.

Some things that we may have changed if we had the chance was firstly changing the website format that we were working with to allow for more flexibility and freedom in the outcome. The platform itself is brilliant, however, when altering small things, such as 
 In addition to this, we would have given the brief a longer period of time, to spread out the work and give each element more focus. And finally, we would have liked to do at least some of the brief in person!
