Energy should be conserved since we are consuming disproportionate amount of energy and that day is not far when all our Non-Renewable resources will expire forcing us to rely just on Renewable Sources. The electricity that we use comes from nuclear power, coal power plants, Oil that we use to run our vehicles are fossil fuels that were created million of years ago from decaying plants. When burned they emit carbon-dioxide which is harmful to humans and the environment. Apart from these it also helps us to save money, mitigates the numerous adverse environmental and social impacts associated with energy production and consumption. These include air pollution, acid rain and global warming , oil spills and water pollution, loss of wilderness areas, construction of new power plants, foreign energy dependence and the risk of international conflict over energy supplies.

Saving electricity doesn't just save money, it also saves the environment. This is news to a lot of people. After all, when you plug something into the wall, it seems clean enough -- you don't see or smell any pollution, like you do with your car. But the pollution is there -- it just happens at the power plant. Most electricity is generated by burning coal and other fossil fuels. Every time you turn on the lights, you create a little pollution. (See the sidebar.) In fact, the average home pollutes more than the average car!(See my Carbon Footprint Calculator for the numbers.) So saving electricity doesn't just put money in your pocket, it helps keep the air and water clean, too.

At a time when global climate is changing at alarming and extreme rates, governments and organisations are calling on everyone to do their share of preserving the planet. This is not only to prevent calamities brought about by the abuse we have done to Mother Nature, but also to make sure that future generations will still be able to enjoy the beauty and gifts that this world has to offer. And what better way to help than to start saving electricity at home. It helps conserve natural resources. Every citizen in the world is aware that electricity prices are constantly increasing. What a lot of people may not know is the reason for these hikes. Well, one of the most compelling causes is the depletion of the sources of electricity, including coal, oil, and gas.It reduces carbon footprint. By opting to limit your home’s or office’s use of fossil products and utilising solar, geothermal, or hydro power instead, you are not only saving electrical energy, but also reducing greenhouse emission in the environment. As a result, there is less pollution.

We cannot afford to waste electricity at all. These waste actions might seem small, but they will affect the local and global environment.Saving electricity is very easy to do and it produces many good results. Perhaps the best one is to preserve this beautiful planet God inherited us.

The conservation of energy is one of the most important concepts in physics. It does not only apply to mechanics, but is a universal truth. This principle becomes the basis of many areas of study, and a full comprehension of the topic is essential for a broad understanding of physics.

We begin our study by differentiating between conservative forces and nonconservative forces, developing two guiding principles and using examples of both kinds of forces. We then go on to develop a new kind of energy: potential energy. An understanding of potential energy, combined with what we already know about kinetic energy will allow us to derive the fundamental concept of the conservation of mechanical energy. We will study various examples of how to apply this principle, and give a limited calculus-based exploration of the topic. By using energetics instead of kinematics or dynamics, we can greatly simplify many physical problems, and also gain a broader understanding of mechanics within the larger principle of energy.

Energy conservation is the act of using energy in a more efficient and effective manner. While any form of energy may be conserved, electricity is the type most commonly referred to in connection with conservation.

Energy conversion efficiency is not defined uniquely, but instead depends on the usefulness of the output. All or part of the heat produced from burning a fuel may become rejected waste heat if, for example, work is the desired output from a thermodynamic cycle. Energy converter is an example of an energy transformation. For example a light bulb falls into the categories energy converter. Even though the definition includes the notion of usefulness, efficiency is considered a technical or physical term. Goal or mission oriented terms include effectiveness and efficacy.

Generally, energy conversion efficiency is a dimensionless number between 0 and 1.0, or 0% to 100%. Efficiencies may not exceed 100%, e.g., for a perpetual motion machine. However, other effectiveness measures that can exceed 1.0 are used for heat pumps and other devices that move heat rather than convert it.

When talking about the efficiency of heat engines and power stations the convention should be stated, i.e., HHV (aka Gross Heating Value etc.) or LCV (aka Net Heating value), and whether gross output (at the generator terminals) or net output (at the power station fence) are being considered. The two are separate but both must be stated. Failure to do so causes endless confusion.
