John Smith was very smart and tried his best to find new things. He tried to find somewhere in America to settle. This was good because people needed a good leader for there new towns in America. this was bad because it made people leave England and it caused a lot of problems.
John wanted to find somewhere in America to settle and create his own maps. This was good because almost no one had visited America and created maps of the area. This is bad because he didn't know what he could find.
John Smith and all the people in England wanted to spread christianity to America so there religion would grow much bigger. this is good because more people would know about their religion and beliefs. This is bad because some people might not want to convert their religion.

John Smith helped establish the first english town in America. He is similar to Ponce De Leon because they both founded a town in America. Pone helped start a They are different because they explored for different countries and different times.
John Smith was the first person to make a map of the Chesapeake bay. This made many people want to come to America because they could have a reference and not be scared. This is similar to Ponce De Leon because they both created something that helped her country like Ponce helped create more cities in Puerto RIco. this is different from John Smith's map because John smith's map was more important because people had never heard of the bay until he made a map and helped people understand.
John Smith helped create Jamestown and when he returned he was captured by a Indian tribe. A woman of the tribe helped save him. Her name was pocahontas. Many of the Tribe leaders finally understood and released him. This is similar to Ponce de leon because they both had struggles when starting there towns. This is different because John was almost killed and Ponce didn't have as harsh of problems.

Source 2 is different from 1 because this is his map of the Chesapeake bay and its at a different time of his trip.

Source 1:
“He that will not work shall not eat.” - John Smith
Source 2:

Left Behind-When John Smith went on his journey to America, he brought there food and workers. When he went back to England he left most of the workers and his spot on the council of Jamestown. This affected the people in Jamestown because they were more happy since they didn't like John very much. This is like today's life because if he wouldn't have gone to America then he wouldn't have been able to help start the first English town in America. He also brought the English kind of language to America and if that wouldn't have happened we wouldn't have the same way of talking as today.

He took- He brought back to England very accurate maps of the Chesapeake bay and corn. He didn't get to bring much back because he had a accident that was very severe and caused him never to return to Jamestown. This affects the people of Jamestown because they were able to explore and go anywhere without being scared of what is ahead of them. This is related to today because it helps us understand the history of how someone found the land and seas

When people first got to America with England they struggled to find a place in the Virgina area to colonize. After a lot of searching they found a spot and called it Jamestown. This is similar to when the Egyptians colonized what is known as Egypt because they went somewhere new and found something good from it. The Egyptians colonizing is different from Jamestown because the egyptians found lots of gold and other goods but Jamestown struggled a lot with diseases and food and health.
