This Christmas I'd like to do something to help people. I've decided to donate some money to charity organisations that, I believe, do good. So, after some budgeting, I saved 100 euros. I have already given 50 to Greenpeace. These days they are organising a campaign against "energy poverty" which means they are researching how our houses can protect us from too much cold or too much heat. If their campaign works, people may be able to change their houses and make them more energy-efficient without spending too much money. That's important! But, I don't know which charity will get the other 50 euros. I need to find information and then I can decide. That's my second goal.

Saving money is a very good habit. Therefore, many people choose to save instead of spending their money immediately.

I believe the most important reason is that when people save money, they feel more secure. If something unexpected happens, they have enough money to meet their basic needs, like water, food, and clothes.

Another reason is that saving money is a great way to start setting goals in life. When we save money, we focus on reaching a specific amount we want to achieve.

There are many other reasons why someone prefers to save their money instead of spending it immediately, but in my opinion, the two I am referring to are the most important.

The difference between needs and wants is that needs are the things ,that you must have to live and you can’t live without them , like foods ,water ,clothes and shelter. The wants are the things , that you mustn’t have to live with them but are some extra and fun things that you want them to be happy ,such as a game console, new toys and new pens. This difference helps me to save money. For example: If l go for shopping and see something that I like it , I’m thinking first: “Is that something that I need it to live with it ,or is that something that I want it a lot for no important reason?”

When somebody refers to his needs he is talking about the things he needs to live, the essentials. A need can be a house, some food and water. On the other hand wants are the things that we can live without them and we want them usually for having a fun time with them. A want can be something like a bike, a video game or a phone.

Question 5.

A piggy bank is a container traditionally shaped like a pig. It is used to save money mostly coins but sometimes bills. It is a safe way to protect your money as well. On the other hand a savings account is like a digital piggy bank on the phone. It is safer than a piggy bank because it only opens with a password that you pick. Both are very useful for saving money but i recommend you to choose a savings account over a piggy bank, because if a thief breaks into your house he can find your piggy bank and take all your money you never know what could happen.

Some people might make the mistake of spending their money right away, which is the most dangerous option since u might not have the money u spent to satisfy ur WANTS in desperate times. Spending your money right away might feel good at first, but the people who made that mistake will definetly find consequences in the future. 😢 Meanwhile, some people might choose to save their money because it’s considered the safest option because if anything happens, you will still have some money in the corner for those hard times, which will satisfy your NEEDS (like food, water etc) 🤗. So to sum it all up, some people might choose to save their money to feel safe and secure.💵

You should always save some money, because money saved over the years will help you make your dreams come true, buy something you really want or need, build your future and finance your studies and be able to face an emergency that might happen to you. If you spend all your money right away, you won't be able to perhaps one day buy your dream house by the sea, your pink Lamborghini or take that trip to Hawaii! So spend without thinking or save wisely? The choice is yours!
