         <description><![CDATA[<ol start="5"><li><p><strong>Define urban sprawl and give an example.</strong></p><p>The rapid, often poorly planned spread of development from an urban area outward into rural areas.</p></li><li><p><strong>Define metropolitan area and give an example.</strong></p><p>A major population centre made up of a large city and and the smaller suburbs and town that surround it.</p></li><li><p><strong>Why were cities much smaller 200 years ago?</strong></p><p>Cities were much smaller because there were less people and things weren't as technologically advanced. </p></li><li><p><strong>Define urban fringe and give an example.</strong></p><p>The ring of small towns and suburbs that surround a big city. Such as, farmlands or spread out houses.</p><p>10- Walking cites are just places that you are able to find everything in walking distance. In colonial times people were able to walk to their businesses and grocery stores easily.</p><p>11- Cities want to grow quickly to increase their tax revenue and to boost its economy.</p><p>12- People oppose urban growth because it could damage the habitats that animals already live in and just damage the environment in general.</p>]]></description>
