Today, I learned that chemistry can be found everywhere, from the food we eat and to the air we breathe. Ma'am Carren taught us all about matter and atoms. I found the classification of matter the most interesting one. ≧◡≦

Honestly, I was really nervous about our first day of class. But after our first meeting, I realized that chemistry is an exciting subject! I had a great time, specifically in the games! This lesson expanded and refreshed my memory on the topics we learned in grade 7-8 IS class. I am anticipating our next meeting. <33

Week 2

For our 2nd meeting in Chemistry 1, we tackled chemical nomenclature. We discussed organic compounds and inorganic compounds. (◜௰◝)

At first, I was a bit overwhelmed since this was my first time encountering this specific topic. Therefore I paid close attention to our synchronous meeting. Eventually, I understood the lesson more by watching YouTube videos and researching about it. ^o^

Week 3

For our 3rd synchronous meeting in chemistry 1, we tackled naming ionic compounds. Ma'am Carren taught us that ionic compounds are composed of metals bonded with nonmetals.

I specifically enjoyed identifying which is an ionic compound. This week's lesson is quite complicated, but it was exciting when I started to understand it.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was not able to join our 4th synchronous meeting in Chemistry 1. ╥﹏╥
The topic for this week is writing and balancing chemical equations.

To catch up, I watched the recorded meeting and read the materials on Khub. Furthermore, I watched YouTube videos to learn more about our topic. o((*^▽^*))o

Week 5

In the continuation of last week's lessons, we tackled balancing equations. I was able to follow the lessons since I reviewed our topic beforehand. Although I reviewed it earlier, balancing equations is still quite a challenging topic. I am going to practice more to improve at it since I often get confused. Even though it was challenging, this was actually my favorite meeting in Chemistry 1 hehe.＼(^-^)／

Week 6

For our 6th synchronous meeting in Chemistry 1, we tackled Stoichiometry. It examines the quantities of substances consumed and produced in chemical reactions. (ㄒoㄒ)

Personally, this is so far the most challenging topic in our subject. I struggled the most in the conversion part. It was confusing since solving equations isn't my strong suit. o(╥﹏╥)o I will watch YouTube tutorials and research to expand my knowledge in the said topic. I will practice Stoichiometry until I improve on it. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

In our synchronous class today, we played Kahoot. The questions in the quiz were about stoichiometry.

I struggled while answering the questions since I still get confused while solving. I'm going to practice more to improve my skills in stoichiometry.

For our 8th synchronous meeting in Chemistry 1, we continued our lesson about stoichiometry. Before we started our class, Maam Carren told us to review the material on Khub first. Because of that, I was able to follow our discussion, which made me learn a lot about the topic.

I am starting to understand stoichiometry but, I still get confused sometimes. I'm going to study more to master stoichiometry. (∪ ◡ ∪)
