Alraight, I’ll explain briefly now.Adab of the Qur’an means respecting the Qur’an by being in wudhu before reciting, sitting humbly, starting with ta’awwudh and basmala, reciting with tajwid and a good tone, and handling the mushaf with care, such as placing it in a proper position and closing it when not in use.

Adab of seeking knowledge includes outward manners like revising, taking notes, asking questions, reading more, and being prepared for class. Inward manners are keeping pure intention for Allah, respecting teachers, setting goals, showing good character, and being consistent in learning.

The companions were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when suddenly a man appeared wearing super white clothes, with really black hair. No one knew him, and he didn’t look like a traveler. He came close to the Prophet ﷺ and started asking questions.

He asked about Islam and the Prophet ﷺ explained it’s about testifying faith, praying, giving zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and performing Hajj if possible.

Then he asked about Iman - to believe in Allah, the angels, the books, the messengers, the Last Day, and qadar .

Then about Ihsan,to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you don’t, know that He sees you.

Finally, he asked about the Day of Judgment.The Prophet ﷺ said only Allah knows when it will happen, but gave signs,which is when a servant gives birth to her master, and when poor shepherds compete in building tall buildings.

In the end, the man left. The Prophet ﷺ then told the companions that the “stranger” was actually Angel Jibril, who came to teach them their religion.

✨ Conclusion

This hadith is like a summary of Islam . It reminds me that being Muslim isn’t just about rituals, but about belief, sincerity, and living with awareness that Allah is always watching.

Belief in the Malaikah means accepting the existence of angels as spiritual beings created by Allah from light to carry out His various roles, including recording deeds, delivering revelations, and praising Allah. . The application is to remember that unseen angels witness our actions, encouraging righteous behaviour.

Belief in Kutub is affirming the divine origin of the scriptures revealed by Allah to His messengers, including Tawrat, Zabur, Injil, and the Qur’an, as sources of guidance and wisdom. . The application is to study and understand the Quran, integrate its teachings into daily life, practice through acts of worship and kindness, share stories and teachings, and seek guidance from scholars. The Quran itself is dalil of the truth of Islam through its miraculous nature, fulfilment of prophecies, consistency and preservation, scientific accuracy, and rhetorical power.

In conclusion, belief in Allah, Malaikah, and Kutub is a central tenet of Islamic faith and Muslims consider it the ultimate source of guidance and truth.

I suggest that we need continue to strengthen sincerity in our deeds, focus on distinguishing between sunnah and obligatory acts through proper knowledge, apply what we learn in daily life with the right intention, and always avoid arrogance by remembering that all goodness comes from Allah.

Next, we continued with the next pillar of faith which is belief in the hereafter.

Allah SWT says in Surah al-Baqarah (2:2):

“And who believe in what has been revealed to you, (O Muhammad), and what was revealed before you, and of the hereafter they are certain (in faith).”

Believing in life after death requires someone to believe that the life of this world and all that is in it will come to an end on an appointed day. Among the significance of belief in the hereafter is that the message is brought by all prophets and will measure the benefits and harm of their actions. Last but not least, we learned about the effect of belief in the last day.

Finally, we learned about belief in qada’ and qadar,which means knew, predetermined and planned perfectly. There are 4 components of qada’ and qadar which are knowledge, writing, will and creation. Among the benefits of belief in qada’ and qadar are peace of mind, teaching us to be modest, humble and content, and it gives us the will power and determination to go forward in the way of Allah.

We also discussed the Signs of the Last Day, which are divided into minor signs, major signs, and the final events. Some of the minor signs have already happened, like:

• The coming of the last Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH),

• People competing to build tall buildings.

There are also minor signs that haven’t happened yet, such as:

• Arabia becoming green and fertile,

• The Euphrates river uncovering a mountain of gold,

• The Earth revealing its hidden treasures,

• The drying up of Lake Tiberias (Tabariyyah).

One story that really stood out to me was the hadith of Tamim al-Dari. He met a strange being the Dajjal who is currently trapped and guarded by angels, unable to enter Makkah and Madinah. The Dajjal asked Tamim about the Prophet, the people of Makkah and Madinah, and the state of the lake. Eventually, that lake will dry up ,that was another sign of the nearing end.

This whole lesson reminded me that the Day of Judgement is real and approaching. I don’t know when it will come, but I do know I need to be spiritually ready. I ask Allah to keep me firm in faith and protect all of us from the trials of the End Times. Ameen.

Adab vs Akhlak: Akhlak is moral philosophy, while adab is its practical application. Adab shows outward behavior, while akhlak refers to inner qualities of the heart.

Other than that,respect towards parents can be seen in the story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. with his father in Surah Maryam . He advised his father with respect, without insulting him, and gently reminded him about the straight path. Even when his father threatened to stone him, Prophet Ibrahim responded with words of peace and promised to seek forgiveness for him from Allah. In the end, when he distanced himself from idol worshippers, Allah blessed him with righteous children, Ishaq and Ya‘qub, and granted them mercy and great honor.

In the Quran and Ḥadith: Allah commands iḥsān (16:90), doing good to parents (17:23–24). In the Hadith of Jibr: “Worship Allah as if you see Him.” The Prophet ﷺ also said: “Allah has prescribed iḥsān in all things.”

Eschatology (a-akhirah) refers to death, judgment, Paradise, and Hell. The Quran promises Paradise to those who believe and do good, while warns of Hell for disbelievers. The Hadith of Jibril also explains the signs of the Last Day.

The connection between ihsan and eschatology leads to perfecting worship, dealings with others, and awareness of Allah (muraqabah), which ultimately leads to Paradise.

Conclusion: Islam is comprehensive, Ihsan improves character, social relations, and brings Allah’s pleasure as well as eternal reward in the Hereafter.

This week, we played a fun activity called the “Bomb Game.” We had to mention things related to biology, and whoever got “bombed” was automatically eliminated. It was really fun!

After that, our beloved usrah assistant gave us a briefing about the upcoming Ibadah Camp — what we should wear on that day. We were reminded to wear Muslimah attire, such as:

• Baju Kurung

• Or Muslimah clothes with a skirt (not pants)

During our first meeting, we introduced ourselves using our own dialects and even had to sing our favourite songs. It was a really fun and memorable experience that helped everyone feel more comfortable with one another.

🤲Khuyu’ in Solah (Prayer)

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَشِعُونَ

“Successful indeed are the believers, those who humble themselves in Solah (Prayer).” (23:1-2)

• Presence of heart and mind before Allah S.W.T.

• Calmness, humility, and attentiveness

• Not merely physical movements

• Strengthens relationship with Allah

• Shapes inner character (akhlaq)

• Prevents sinful behaviour

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَرْكَعُواْ وَاسْجُدُواْ وَاعْبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمْ وَافْعَلُواْ الْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

“O you who have believed, bow, prostrate, and worship your Lord.” (Al-Hajj 22:77)

• Obedience to Allah with sincerity

• Acceptance of Allah’s commands

• Trains discipline and loyalty

• The closest a servant is to Allah is during sujūd

Al-Jihād (Striving in Allah’s Path)

وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ ٦٩

“Those who strive for Us, We will guide them.” (Al-ʿAnkabut 29:69)

Muhāsabah (Self-Reflection)

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٨

“Let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow, and fear Allah, for Allah is All-Aware of what you do.” (Al-Hashr 59:18)

• Evaluating actions and intentions

Iffah (Modesty & Self-Restraint)

وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ ٤٥

“Indeed, Solah (Prayer) restrains from shameful and unjust deeds.” (Al-ʿAnkabut 29:45)

• Guarding oneself from sinful acts

• Moral integrity inside and outside Solah (Prayer)

Tawaduk (Humility)

وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَهِلُونَ قَالُواْ سَلَمًا ٦٣

“The servants of the Most Merciful walk humbly on the earth.” (Al-Furqān 25:63)

• Whoever humbles himself for Allah, Allah will raise him (Muslim)

🌙Fasting & Its Virtues

• Ayat on Fasting:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ (Al-Baqarah 2:183)

“O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you – as it was for those before you – so perhaps you will become mindful of Allah”

• Meaning:
  

  • Only believers who truly claim faith can fast correctly

  • “Those before you” = most say Jews & Christians, others say all previous nations

  • Allah mentioned this to ease the burden & encourage us to do better

  • Goal = Taqwa (mindfulness of Allah, being careful of sin)

  
  

• Fasting & Taqwa:
  

  • It’s not just avoiding food & drink

  • Prophet (SAW) said: “If one does not leave lies and false conduct, Allah does not need him to abstain from food & drink.” [Al-Bukhari]

  • So fasting trains the heart and behaviour too

  • Hunger & thirst make us feel others’ suffering

  • Encourages helping those who fast

  • Prophet (SAW): “Whoever feeds a fasting person earns the same reward as the fasters themselves.” [At-Tirmidhi]

  
  

Fasting teaches us patience, self-control, empathy, and closeness to Allah. 🌙💛

The argument I gave for point four is that patience helps improve relationships with others. When we are patient, we are able to control our emotions and impulses, preventing us from reacting angrily or harshly when dealing with people. Patience allows us to understand others’ feelings better, become more tolerant, and handle differences calmly. As a result, it helps us maintain harmonious and positive relationships with others.💗

It not only improved my understanding but also created a positive and supportive learning environment. I hope I can apply what I learned in my daily life and continue to join more Usrah sessions in the future.💗

• Zakah is a pillar of Islam 🌟
  It is obligatory on every Muslim and helps purify our wealth and strengthen our relationship with Allah. It’s amazing to know that Zakah is mentioned alongside prayer thirty-two times in the Quran!

• Definition & Meaning:
  

  • Literally, Zakah means to grow, increase, and be blessed.

  • Technically, it’s a prescribed share of wealth to help deserving people, showing that Islam cares for both spiritual and social well-being.

• Tawakkul (Trust in Allah) 🤲
  Giving Zakah shows that we do not depend on wealth but fully rely on Allah. Whatever we give sincerely will be multiplied and replaced by Him.

• Ukhuwah (Brotherhood) 🤝
  Zakah strengthens social bonds, encourages empathy, and reduces selfishness. It reminds us that we are all connected through faith and should support one another.

• Conclusion:
  Zakah teaches us to balance our relationship with Allah and with people. It helps us become less attached to material things, more caring for the needy, and promotes unity and harmony in the community. 💛
