I think they were treated differently for many specific reasons. I think it wasn't expect that his was going to happen so they didn't have as much security on sight. The BLM protests/riots happened for a longer period of time so some violence was expected. Them treating these people I do not think was based on skin color however. They did not treat the two differently on purpose.

I think the one image that stood out to me the the most was the picture of the people trying to climb up the wall. This represented animalism in my mind. It looked like they were trying to escape something like prison. It definitely was not a good look to be climbing up the wall of the capital. That it why it stood out to me the most.

Yes I believe that they were both treated differently, however I do not believe that the police treated the insurrection yesterday differently on purpose. The BLM events took place over a longer period time, therefore the police and national guard had time to prepare for the upcoming riots and protests. On the other hand, on January 6th, the riot was supposed to be peaceful and organized. So in theory, that is what the police expected and prepared for. But as we all saw, it turned violent pretty quick. So yes, I think people were treated differently yesterday, although It wasn't deliberate.

I think the image that stands out to me the most is, the one where the swat team is armed at the blm protests, and at the trump rally it is a 3ft met gate. It stood out to me the most because how unreasonable it was. I think it was ridiculous that they allowed the rally yesterday to even make it up the stairs of the Capitol let alone break down a window. I think they should have gotten even a little bit of military's involvement in the Rally yesterday.

I do think that the police treated the two groups differently. I think this because based on the videos and images that were attached to the article, it was clear that the police did not do nearly as much to this group than the BLM group. For the BLM group they were armed and were wearing very protective gear, for this group, they were just pushing a small metal gate with their body weight to keep the protesters back.

I think that it isn't possible to fully unite the country because people will always have different views and opinions. I don't think there is a way to make people think the same and see the same, ever. Like in the Reign of Terror where they used fear to make people against the king but some people still continue to support him no matter the consequences.

The Last of Us Part 2 was a highly anticipated video game that came out in June 2020, and the fanbase was split. It was a sequel to a beloved game that came out in 2013, and spoilers of the game came out before it was released and people went crazy. They hated the direction of the story before the game even came out. When it did come out, it had such a low user score rating on Metacritic (<1/10) that they had to take it off of the site and implement a new rule so people would have to play the game in order to rate it by waiting a couple days before accepting ratings. Despite the negativity, a majority of the community did actually like the game, which caused many arguments and a lot of hate in the fanbase. It was the first game that I’ve seen create that big of a wall in the gaming community.

The picture that stood out to me the most was the one where on the left side it showed all armed security standing on steps overlooking a black lives matter protest, and on the right side, it showed all the Trump supporters crowded on the steps of the capital. What stands out to me is the difference in each picture is so powerful becasue it shows how differently people can be treated solely based on their reason to protest. Another thing that stood out to me was how well this picture showcased white supremacy which, yet people still deny it.

I definetly think that the police were treated diffrently in the two events because the police forces present yesterday and during BLM should have been switched and institued how they were for those events just switched. This should have happened mainly and undoutably because yesterday was an attack on the entire democracy of the U.S. . While those were only protests so the police defintetly should have switched.

I agree that the police treated differently the 2 groups. I don't condemn the police who guarded the Capitol during the BLM protests, because the Capitol building should be guarded, whether it's a peaceful protest, an alleged peaceful protest or a violent protest. But in one video, the police are letting in the Trump supporters deliberately. I do condemn the action of the police here, letting a fascist mob in a building which symbolizes freedom and democracy not only to the USA, but to the whole world. It's obvious that the police treated the 2 different kinds of protesters differently, according to the concept they support. Those police let the reputation of the country who is the guardian of democracy to zero.

I believe that the police treated the 2 groups differently. The two situations were both executed differently because of their different topics, but what happened didn't go the way I expected. The BLM protesters from late 2019 were treated with violence, although their protests and the movement as a whole were peaceful. Yet the Trump protest incident was the total opposite; protestors were vandalizing, breaking into, and disturbing the Capitol, but it seems the police could not care less.
