         <description><![CDATA[<div>Flappers were a generation of young western women in the 1920s who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behavior. Flappers were icons of the Roaring 20s, the social, political turbulence and increased cultural exchange  that followed the end of WW1. During the 1920s, all women were given the right to vote. Flappers smoked in public, danced the new dances and broke all of societies rules for women.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Jazz age was a period in the 1920s and 1930s in which jazz music and dance styles rapidly gained nationwide popularity. The Jazz Ages cultural repercussions were primarily felt in the United States. Jazz music originated in New Orleans as a fusion of African and European music; it's influence on pop culture continued long afterwards. The Women's Liberation Movement was furthered by jazz, as it provided means of rebellion against societies standards.</div>]]></description>
