Predictions - #1 - Red Queen

I predict that Queen Elara will not find out that Mare let the prisoners go. I believe this for many reasons, such as Maven directed her towards other people in the castle away from Mare because he doesn't want Mare to get hurt. Also, Julian made sure that the guards didn't remember them ever being in the dungeon, so she wouldn't be able to get anything out of them. Even though they have her blood sample I think her blood might have changed when she got powers or else they would easily find out about her. To add, the book still has many more pages left and the book wouldn't continue going if she was killed.

I was surprised that their father died because usually in books they don't decide to have something bad happen to one of the main characters. I had thought that he was just going to get better because that is what most stories do to have happy endings. They were foreshadowing this death the book though because he refused to go to doctors, was started to get high blood pressure, symptoms, and finally had a heart attack, ending up in the hospital. Personally, I like that the book didn't have a very predictable ending to it because when you know what will happen it gets boring.

I agree with Penny when she said she was DONE with Megan. Megan can't get more rude and stuck up then she already is. She calls Penny quirky, and not in the cute way, in the rude way. She interrupts Penny all the time talking about her own life and makes, so you have to give her a compliment. She tries to act mature, which just makes her sound even more immature. She makes Penny get her coffee. Then, she shows up on her 'date' with Ollie because she can't stand the idea that Penny is going to get something she wants. She even smiles when Penny leaves after Megan showed up. Overall, she is a big she-devil that shouldn't be hanging around Penny.

A major decision - Girl Online

The major decision I am talking about is Penny has to pick her best friend who she brought to New York and has known forever or her kinda boyfriend that she met a couple days ago and has a crush on. Elliot, her best friend, had to go home for Christmas and fly by himself home to his parents who were very boring to hang out with while Penny just met a boy, Noah, who is the most romantic person ever and lives in New York where he wants Penny to stay in New York. (By the way she lives in England) If I was her I wouldn't have any idea what to do, but she wants to stay in New York with Noah and her family. I can't believe that decision was so easy for her. Just reading it makes me slightly stressed how can she handle that!

I predict that Bella, Noah's little sister, will have a large contribution to the plot of the story. I think because she is young she will let some secrets slip to Penny, this causing questions for Penny and/or drama. Of course I could be totally wrong because as I said in a previous post I like it when something unexpected happens, so it doesn't get too boring.

In my book Penny struggled with both internal and external conflicts. She would physically embarrass herself and her school community would make fun of her, which is a character vs. society conflict. It didn't make matters better that she had anxiety problems and has had many panic attacks recently.

I had said before that Bella, Noah's kid sister, would reveal something to Penny which would add to the plot. Now that I read more I know I was right, Bella told Penny that Noah was writing a song for her and that Sadie Lee, Noah's Grandma, called Noah love-struck. This showing that Bella already revealed some details on Noah's feelings for her which could eventually cause drama in the future. This is much more likely to happen now that they are in the same house for Christmas, so they are closer than ever to talk.

Also, I predict that Noah will ask Penny something really important because he is keeping a secret. Also, you can tell that the book is leading up to something big because of all that is happening in it. I just wonder what it could be!

Penny got home and was feeling all confident in herself, but then she finds out something BIG! I wouldn't have predicted anything close to what happened. Here's what happened . . . Penny was in her bedroom talking to Ollie and she showed him Noah's picture. Ollie said the picture was of a youtube star who's name is Noah Flynn and that he has a GIRLFRIEND! Major Plot twist! I would think that she would keep pretending that she didn't know he was famous, but that would be hard because she gets nervous very easily. As soon as she found out texted him before he could even explain himself, I think that is pretty selfish. She is starting to act like Megan (who I mentioned in earlier posts), all bratty and mean. I bet if she did something like that and he told her that she would want to explain why she did it. But, nooooo she had to be selfish and rude. Overall, both Noah and Penny did things they shouldn't have and now they ended up not contacting each other ever again. I love plot twists (as I kind of mentioned in an earlier post about predictable endings)!

OMG! Someone leaked all over the internet that Penny was going out with Noah Flynn behind Leah Brown's (Famous Singer who is supposed to be dating Noah) back. Also, in doing that leak the person told people about how she wrote all about it in her anonymous blog telling the internet her identity. She sees this and has a panic attack about how everyone is hating her. Then she goes on to get angry at Elliot because she thinks he leaked it, since he was the only one who knew about the blog and her identity. Why would Elliot do that? Obviously it wasn't him, but who could it be? The only person I know that would do that to Penny would be Megan, but Megan didn't know anything about the blog because Penny didn't trust her. Who could it be?! If I was her I wouldn't know what to do and she isn't good with these types of situations, so how is she going to solve this massive issue? They can't end the book like this so how is she going to rise up from this deep hole of a problem.

In an earlier post I asked how they were going to end the book because they couldn't end without the readers knowing what happened. Now that I finished I know how it ends and it isn't sad at all. She is walking on the beach to clear her mind and take pictures when Noah shows up behind her. I think this is super dramatic though because he could have easily called her, but he wanted to make it romantic and fly the England. He had changed had previously changed his number, but he still had hers and could have called her. I wasn't very satisfied with how Zoe Sugg (the author) finished the book, but the rest of the book kept me wondering with each chapter. So, like a 4.5 rating.

Now that I am starting a new book I want to predict what might happen before I read it. I don't know much about the book from what I read in the blurb, but I know some things for sure.
1) This book is going to be written from 3 perspectives, Natasha, Daniel, and the universe because the blurb is written in 3 perspectives.
2) Natasha and Daniel live very different lives, one a good student who lives up to his parents expectations while the other an undocumented immigrant about to be deported in a few hours.
3) They both fall in love with each other in New York City without wanting too because when they speak in the blurb both say I'm not the type of person to do this.
Overall, I think Daniel will help Natasha and her family not get deported while Daniel will let his parents down because of who he is spending his time with. I could be totally wrong, so we will see I am really intrigued by this book.

Wondering - The Sun is Also a Star

After I've read some of this book I am questioning why this book is called The Sun is Also a Star. At first when I read the blurb and Natasha said that she "believes in science and facts" I thought it was going to be related to science which would make sense, then. The problem with that is when she 'writes' in the book she doesn't seem like a person who always spits out facts, so it doesn't really make sense. Both of the main characters don't seem like they would talk or really think about that often even if they're both smart. It may have a hidden meaning that represents the theme of the book like someone huge or important is part of millions of people, like the whole universe doesn't revolve around you. I have no idea how that would involve these kids who always think of everyone else before them, but it could be a possibility. It wouldn't be named The Sun is Also a Star for no reason, the title in all books has a reason or meaning for being there like The Outsiders was named because he felt like greasers were social outcasts.

As I read this book I notice that the only time when the book is in first person is when Daniel or Natasha are speaking in their parts. When it isn't their part the book is written in third person. For example, a part titled The Conductor, it starts by saying, "The Conductor's divorce had not been easy on him." Later it says in a part labeled Daniel, it states, "I don't bother waiting for another train to take me to Thirty-Fourth Street." I wonder why it's like that, maybe it's because Natasha and Daniel are the main characters and they only want their view points. Everyone else are just explanations for how they got there and everyone's lives affect each other's lives. I just find that interesting.

I predict that Natasha and Daniel have already met. I believe this may be true because Natasha says she has a deja vu on page 55 when Daniel looks at her and on page 66 Daniel says he was having a deja vu moment when their eyes meet. But how could they have met? Or did they not actually meet? Maybe they've bumped into each other without noticing before. The other possibility is that they both have looked at someone before that they love, so Natasha and Daniel remind each other of past relationships. I have a feeling they will explain it later in the book, so readers aren't confused.
