    We don’t make our own tools
    Necessary for survival – not as necessary now bc we have grocery stores
    Hunting = connection to animals, more direct connection to what you eat – a form of consuming nature
    More respectful/honoring – took care of the land and took from it
    Settlers had a diff. relationship with hunting – killing for sport, not using as many parts of the animal
    Land and animals weren’t “owned” the way they are now
    We recognize the impact of our actions more when we are directly hunting our own food

    -EXClUDING people who buy food from stores, and people who hunt for sport. 

    If you were to go out in to the woods and make all your own tools and weapons, kill the animal on a LEVEL playing field. then maybe it could be a spiritual experience.     The tradition for the respect for animals that are hunted should  still be a mainstream idea in hunting .
