This source tells me that the lives of teenagers in Singapore was at stake as they were putting everything they had on the line to defend for Singapore

The evidence is that in the picture there are Indian soldiers going off to fight the Japanese. They also look very prepared and confident to protect Singapore.

Change: British as superior, before the war only the British were allowed to take up arms but now the locals were fighting as well.

Today I had to do a summary on the two aspects i had researched on Singapore as home and Singapore as an impregnable fortress.

Firstly, Singapore was not considered as home before the war. But when the Japanese invaded, the people laid everything on the line to fight for and defend Singapore. After that their loyalties was towards Singapore.

Secondly, Singapores defence was considered legendary as the had the largest naval base, series of big guns around he city  and british as superior.  But the Japanese invaded singapore where it was least defended and took over in a week. Teenagers were being tortured and at the risk of being bombed. They were very miserable.

In conclusion, the lives of teenagers before and during the war was tough and depressing as they had to bow down to the British then the Japanese. they did not have a voice of their own.
