His house is in the village though;   
He will not see me stopping here   
To watch his woods fill up with snow.   

My little horse must think it queer   
To stop without a farmhouse near   
Between the woods and frozen lake   
The darkest evening of the year.   

He gives his harness bells a shake   
To ask if there is some mistake.   
The only other sound’s the sweep   
Of easy wind and downy flake.   

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,   
But I have promises to keep,   
And miles to go before I sleep,   
And miles to go before I sleep.

These contrast in away of optimism and curiosity to the cruel knowing of what your destiny has in store for you. At the end compared to the beginning the protagonist has a point of brightness compared to how dark the rest, and end of the poem.

I think of snow knee high having to climb over almost every step then falling down and looking up at the house on the ridge, in the middle of the forest. The house having dim lights still on while smoke is coming from the top as the person inside is trying to stay warm. It looks so warm and cozy as you're freezing and in mother natures hands. It could be your refuge but it doesn't seem fair to you. Why is that? Maybe its too peaceful for your hectic life and you don't want your bad energy in there. Going to see Christmas lights when I was a kid. Something so majestic and being in the moment is something I loved as a kid.

Watching the movie "28 days later" for the first time. although is poem has no zombies and isn't about an apocalypses it gives me the feeling that nothing is left in this world.

Playing Halo ODST for the first time. Most definitely concerns and fears. The writer is almost at the end of the road to a long journey. Its something that has been in the back of their head for a long time and they are fearful about their own feelings towards it and how it will end and no one will know but them, no one can give them advise on how to deal with it. There is always going to be an end, but there's always hope for new beginnings as well.
