         <title>Impact Strand 1: Supporting young people in understanding potential careers in healthcare</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Potential beneficiaries:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Young people about to go to or in Medical School.</strong> </p></li><li><p>Year 8s - filling gaps in career guidance.</p></li><li><p>Year 11s and Year 12s</p></li><li><p>All above are people who could have an interest in careers in healthcare, and or, are people can be made aware of the opportunities.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Stakeholders:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Processes of engagement/dissemination: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Toolkits for careers in healthcare </p></li><li><p>Creative resources: e.g. animated videos</p></li><li><p>Database of opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Utilising networks to get the resource out (Aim higher, the GMC, Medical College)</p></li><li><p>Annual conference for careers advisors - conference in Nottingham 24 April 2025. </p></li><li><p>Utilising the expertise and knowledge of an advisory board/sub-advisory board. It could be an advisory board of young people.</p></li><li><p>Engagement events with leadership groups e.g. head teachers.</p></li><li><p>For those in Medical school: a challenge for these stakeholders/beneficiaries is current lack of career guidance.</p></li><li><p>'Case study' interviews with people in niche and intriguing healthcare careers.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Evidencing Plan:</strong></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Sub-strand: </p><p>Highlighting issues/raising awareness amongst key stakeholders - building momentum with governing bodies etc.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Beneficiaries: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Minority ethnic groups in healthcare professions</p></li><li><p>Medical School students</p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Key Stakeholders:</strong></p><p>BAPIA</p><p>SLMDA</p><p>British association of black surgeons</p><p>Race and community APPG.</p><p>Who has oversight of competence and progression? <strong>Find out about the different governing bodies.</strong></p><p>Healthcare managers within hospitals.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Possible action: </strong>Figure out who the key stakeholders (via networks perhaps) are to begin to build momentum towards impact. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Processes of engagement/dissemination: </strong></p><ul><li><p>Utilise creative agencies to create a toolkit/resource that can be utilised by the SLMDA. Build in feedback mechanism</p></li><li><p>Resource idea: Story manual (reading lived experience of stories)</p></li><li><p>Facilitation of inter-groups dialogue (BAPIA, SLMDA) - could be done via conferences.</p></li><li><p>Engage with minority staff network meeting at large NHS trust (audience not usually doctors).</p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Starting point: Explore potential conferences to attend and whether you can organise special sessions. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Evidencing Plan:</strong></p>]]></description>
