This book is related to the video of racial profiling. By the young vs old or how blacks were treated by the upper white society. How it separated the blacks from their families and created a wall between the young and the old. Even showed why some Blacks tried to commit suicide in those days. The book is about a young boy who went to war with the Italian mop. How they robbed and killed young poor men until a young man took it upon himself to go against them and form a mob of his own.How they tried to kill him and his family. How he moved his family out of the South to the North when slavery was in. The book had the ups and downs of life and the things he had to do as a young man and when he got older. It showed how people viewed him as a person because he became an outlaw for standing up for what he believed in. This book was a good example because it describes me in the present. How I'm trying to change my life and what I've been through. He was a poor kid who grew up poor and how people looked at him differently until he got rich than how people looked at him like he was their hero. This book is a good example of how they did a study of the young black males who grew up in the projects and when they were able to overcome their situation and become rich and dress nice how people no longer looked down on him because of who he as because he now had money.

A 2-Pac album is the type of music that I like because a lot of what he talks about has something to do with me as a person.I cant talk about one song just because he has so many, songs that relate to the young and the old.2Pac has been dead since 1996 his music still is being played today. Low-culture (popular) 2Pac stared in a lot of movies, countless videos, and over 1000 songs that have been recorded by 2Pac speakers to me and others in different ways because his music is so diverse to the young whites as much as its speakers to the urban youth of today. White people understand his music just like a black person would.HEs a poet with deep meaning. An actor with the skills of Denzel Washington, and the characteristics of aThug.HE is looked upon as an American hero. People loved and hated him the same. They loved him because of his talents but also hated him for his action and his mouth plus he hated the police and was convicted of attempted Rape which was false. He served over 2 to 3 years in prison for his actions. Now some of the Elite people of today look at him differently because they have had college classes being taught about his life.

In Module 9 the videos talked about race and ethnicity. It shows you how import race is and how we come about the One-Drop Rule which is the smallest amount of ancestry like black you would not be concerned white even if you looked white you would be concerned Black, For example if you were white and you ended up with Hispanic in his blood you would be concerned Latino American. Even white people that is Jewish or Italian is not considered white in the U.S. So in other words, you're only considered purebred white if you have other blood lines than White. In 1970, Hispanics whose heritage originated in Spanish-speaking countries. Latin American heritage is from the South of the U.S, including Mexico and South America. Not all Hispanics come from nations like Brazil. Even though they have a lot of physical appearance, they may be from different parts of the world. Unlike race, based on Observable physical traits, two people from the same ethnic group can be different. Minority distinguished by physical cultural difference that society sets aside or apart and subordinates. Important parts that minorities share on distinctive identity based on physical or cultural traits in society have less societal power.

2 Examples of how specific elements fit into today's life would be the media and the deportation of Mexican and other Spanish minorities is being forced back to their countries if they are felons or have committed a serious crime

In this entry, the video talks about Social Groups that categorize one particular kind of person time or two people who share the same similar characteristics. One thing about being in a group you must feel like you belong! One kind of group is called the secondary group, which is large and impersonal, for example, a company that you work for is considered a group. You belong to this group, but it's not personal like family or friends in which I'll talk about later. Voluntary groups are considered groups that you choose to join. Like a basketball team or Baseball team, or any other group were your not drafted to go. It's your own decision to join that particular group. Involuntary group in which you join is assigned to you, like prison, or being a soldier against your will. In this group, you're forced to join this group; you have no decision on how you're put into this group. There are two types of leaders in this world (1) the type that influence others in a group, which is called Instrumental leaders, who focus on a group that has goals, giving orders to achieve and plan their goals.(2) Expressive leaders are leaders who increase harmony and minimize conflict. Democratic Leaders try to reach a consensus instead of issuing orders. You also have the Laissez-Faire group, which is extremely permissive and is mostly on your own, which means a lot of freedom. Which brings you to Group Conformity . In 1974, an experiment was done between a teacher and a student in which the teacher had to punish the student for every wrong answer. The experiment was to see how far the teacher would go if he or she had to punish the student . The teacher had to shock the student with 450 volts, which could be deadly if done. Among the teachers, 65% of them went all the way with the voltage, but the experiment wasn't real it was more about learning. The student was an actor who screamed out in pain but wasn't feeling the shocks at all, just to make the teacher think he or she was punishing the student. The experiment showed people would go as far as they were ordered, which is called Compliance.

In this video, the topic was Deviance, which is anything that different or that deviates from the norm. In which people generally accept as normal. Social control is a society to regulate people thoughts and behaviors, in which they are punished. You have two types of sanctions a negative and positive sanctions. Negative sanctions refer to the way a person or people react. Positive sanctions are a response to conformity(Affirmative reactions). Folkways always resulted in a negative sanction. Formal sanctions are norms in which codified into law. Example (police, Courts, prison system.Which almost always end up in a negative sanction.A lot of people have studied this and came up with Biological Essentialism, which says that something or someone made him or her bad. An experiment in which Cesare Lombroso felt people with physical characteristics of muscles, stocky build, low forehead, and high cheekbones were more likely to be deviant than others of different characteristics. The experiment was later to wrong but that showed you how people prejudge you before they know you as a person. Another expert was William Sheldon that should 40% to 50% were more likely to be CRiminal deviants. Elenanor and Sheldon refuse to explain, but later on said the larger boys would most likely be Bullies. An element of personality may be inherited psychologically, see it as a matter of personality or social. Walter Reckles and Simon Dinitz studied boys in the urban neighborhood, which was Good Boys/Bad Boys. The good boys were lagled that because they could control their emotions, and the bad boys were not able to control their emotions. A lot of people are discriminated against because of their race or the way they look, which is wrong. Always get to know a person before you judge them, get to know their character.

Social Stratification

IN this topic, the video talked about Social Stratification, which categorizes people and ranks them in hierarchy.Example like your job or the people you deal with. Stratification is the characteristic of society no matter the differences.People who are wealthy tend to live long lives, have better schools, tend to be healthier people because they have better food, better medical care, whereas the poor people are the total opposite. They are not going to the better schools, getting better health care, not eating the good or right kinds of food,b ecause they are trying to survive in society Social Mobility change the position of a person within social hierarchy good or bad, Up or down in life, depending on your job, your income, or your life style. Now Horizontal Mobility changes position without a change of their social hierarchy, because they might have changed jobs or careers, but made the same money . Now, if the Dow-Jones falls or there is a recession, this is called Structural Social Mobility, when a large number of people lose or change positions in life .It has nothing to do with economic and social inequalities. Closed mobility is extremely rigid with little social mobility, its based on status. The Caste system has 4 different groups (Brahmias who are priests & scholars), Kshatriyas, who were the Rulers, Warriors, and Administrators. Vaishyas were the Merchants, and the last was the Shudras, the Laborers and service workers. You seem to marry within your category because that's who you're around, which is called Endogamy. Apartheid is a legally enforced separation between whites and blacks. You're not allowed to own your own land, no say in government,no citizenship . An example is what they did to Naledi Mandela for over 40 years.

Sex & Sexuaility

In this topic the video discusses Sex and Sexuality and the difference between the two. People look at sex as private and is hard to talk about . Just like in class when we discussed this topic, a lot of people didn't respond because talking about sex might seem like an unwanted topic or dirty. Sex is a biological category that distinguishes between Female/Male. A pair of chromosomes separates the two(xx-female)(xy-male). Primary sex characteristics show as sex organs that involve the reproductive which develops in the UTERO. Secondary Sex characteristics developed like puberty and are not involved in reproduction, like pubic hair/enlarged breast/and facial hair. Intersex is people born with sex characteristics that don't fit typical Binary notions of the female or male body.KLINEFELTER which produce xxy chrosomes or the Triple X Syndrome(xxx) different hormones or the body is not fully developed.1-1,500 people in this society are that way. Intersex is popular in different countries people accept the differences in people in different parts of the world.A lot of people had unnecessary operations because society said it needed to be corrected. Gender is a set of social psychological characteristic that society consider proper for males/females. Masculinity is for men, and femininity is for women. How we dress, how we talk obvious and uncontroversial; that is purely a social convention. Like a skirt(women) or a Kilt(men), this is also true to be more biologically determined. For example, a construction job is considered masculine, but the average difference between the sexes is a great deal because there are women who are bigger and stronger than a lot of men. Gender expression way someone performs their gender identity. Transgender Profile is when you don't identify with or match your sex at birth. Cisgender individuals match their profile at birth. Secxuality is everything related to sexual behaviors, sex acts, desire, Arousal,is considered sexual. Sex Orientation is who you're attracted to, and three 3 types: Heterosexual when you're attracted to the other gender, Homosexual when you're attracted to the same gender, Asexual when you don't experience sexual attraction to gender at all. Symbolic Interactionism is considered normal in other countries example in some countries oral sex is performed by the younger man on an older man for the rite of passage to manhood. Structural Functionalism is when sex is ordained between two families or the same family, This was done so that families could make sure that the couple would make sure they could support each other. Social Conflict is the idea that there are only two genders. I see a lot of different people in this world people who like the same sex or different gender its the 2025 and the world has changed were that no longer matter anymore because even the states who was against same sex marriage are now conforming to new laws and no longer stuck in the old ways of how people viewed other people.

In this chapter of Global Perspective you learn about systems in which you work hard and talent isn't recognized nor rewarded. In states like Viringa and Missippi had 83% to 63% had local property taxes.Viringa state had 13,700 and Missippi had 7,900.Tracking of students that criminalizes devient behavior in schools or jobs even with minor disciplinary issues.Men to Womenor boys to girls show that boys or men are more likely then women or girls to get in trouble or dimestrate violant behavior.Social Inequalities of Schools, Income ,Education, even housing varies from different types of people, depending if you was raised rich or got rich in some type of way.If you was born rich you was always looked upon as equal or prilivage because you and your family always had money so you was able to go to better schools, better health care .If you was lucky enough to have money or to be raised in a good environment your schools would be funded different. How schools would be funded different because of where you lived.Inpact that it had on the poorer neighborhood was less education racial conflict.Which came up with the conflict theory and how the pattern was inequalor had a disadvantage of other students that was able to live in those nice neighborhoods where you could get a good education,go to better schools this caused Goble Inequality which is unequal distribution of resource opportunities shaped the power within a country or countries. The understanding the different experiences of humans,No matter where they lived. A good example my son which lived in Wake forest lived in a rich neighborhood had moe or better resources because of his enviroment. This caused him to have a better chance in life rather then his cousin who grow up in the projects of Durham(Mcdouglar Projects). His cousin had a poor environment with poor schools less education which he ended up being shot and going to prison and my son going to the Air Force so I guess it is true the more the better chance you have to make a better life.
