The book is "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" by Ian Fleming. I first read it when I was in elementary school, and absolutely loved it.

Why this book? When I was selecting a book, I was thinking about my brother. He doesn't like to read, so I wanted to pick something that would interest him. He LOVES to play video games, and he is always talking about how he doesn't need school because he can be a professional gamer. I read a few summaries about the book, and realized that the main character, Derek, ad my brother had a lot in common.

Why this book? It’s a great book about the comforts of home and being neighborly. Also about finding the joy in imaginative play and time on your own. It also explores the loneliness one experiences prior to making friends.

What will the audience like about this book? I think readers will connect with Agnes and her view of her home that she loves.  The illustrations are beautiful and really give readers a sense of Agenes’ rich inner world.
