This week I read one report about the height gap caused by the difference in diet worldwide. It is said that according to a recent research, a height gap was created because of the poor diet and nutrition in the relatively poor countries and regions. I was so sad hearing this news. But thinking at the reality, our country is also under this problem. In the last 40 years, the growth of Chinese economics is enormous, which enables children to have better food for eating in some regions. Nonetheless, in the regions that are relatively less advanced, children there are still starving. As a result, countries should encourage healthier eating and we all should help the children in the poverty-hitting area.

Today I just finished a Netflix series called Maid. It’s about a young mom’s experience of escaping from her husband’s abusing. The mom’s name is Alex and she has a 3-year-old daughter called Maddy. Her husband Sean is addicted to alcohol. Sean is a bartender and he gets drunk almost every day. Alex and Sean used to be a happy couple, but after Alex’s getting pregnant, which Sean considered as a distortion of his life and plans, she has been mentally controlled by his husband all the time. One day after Sean got drunk he threw a plate on the wall behind Alex. It’s the plate that let Alex made up her mind to leave Sean with Maddy. They had nowhere to go therefore they went to a domestic violence shelter. In order to make her living, Alex has to work as a cleaner (that’s why the name of the series is Maid). At the end of the series Alex obtains the full custody of Maddy and she goes to Montana for college (which is the one she dropped out because of Sean).

The series makes my emotion changing frequently, sometimes I can’t help laughing, sometimes I cry for the great maternal love… It also reminds me that domestic violence is so hurtful that I can’t be an abuser. I can say that this is the best series I have seen this year. Maid not only give me happiness but inspire me to think deeply on the situation where the stay-at-home moms are. Maybe in the future I would try to help the stay-at-home moms in need.

Natural relates to architecture since some kinds of the raw materials used are harmful to the environment. For instance, lime, which also known as burned lime, is used to produce cement. But provided that the waste of this raw material is wrongly disposed, it will pollute the whole water area as a circulation. Similarly, some pieces of furniture in our houses are made of woods. As a result, this may lead to a catastrophe to the forests. In addition, some processes in the architecture like tearing down a building may damage the environment too. The process of pulling down a former building produces plenty of dust which then spread into the air. In other words, pulling down buildings without proper actions result in air pollution.

To summarize, architecture has something to do with the environment. Usually improper actions will cause great damage to the environment.

Equality and quality of life are more important than economic and technological growth since without them the society will be unstable. People are always chasing economic and technological growth as they will increase people’s lives standards. According to Bowles, Edwards, and Roosevelt (2005, p.8-9), wherever and whenever capitalism took hold, people’s incomes and consumption levels began to rise in a sustained way. However, if the economy grows freely, what it leads to is inequality rather than people’s happiness. Marx believed that, as stated by Wetherly and Otter (2011, p.341), the growth of the economy, rather than benefiting everyone, can lead to inequality. Obviously, the situation goes the opposite way to what people long for. In this way, people will seek overturns for exploitation, causing instability for the society. Therefore, equality is key to increasing people’s lives standards and it’s more important than economic and technological growth.

Companies would have faced numerous challenges when working internationally only thirty years ago. Today cultural issues still play a great role. A company's potential for global success and trade barriers still mean that trade within a country is easier than international trade( Hamilton and Webster,2009). Whilst the globalization of business has transformed the world for both business and consumers. It is debatable to what extent this has been positive or negative, in particular for areas such as the environmental impact. This essay will first look at the positive impact and then analyse the negative side of it.
