         <title>American Revolution: What are the four different acts represented in the cartoon?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Stamp act: </strong>An act that required all colonist to pay tax on every piece of printed paper. Examples of paper items that were taxed include, but aren’t limited to  newspapers, books, deeds, marriage licenses, wills, business agreements, etc. Colonist found this unfair and protested a lot. <br><strong>Trade Laws:</strong> The taxation of colonies, international trade. American Revolution was precipitated, in part, by a series of laws passed that allows trade and taxes.<br><strong>Townshend act: </strong>The Townshend Acts passed by Parliament that placed taxes on tea, paint, lead, and glass, which made colonist even more angry.<br><strong>Intolerable acts: </strong>The Intolerable Acts were a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament, after the Boston Tea Party. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their protest of throwing tea shipments and supplies into Boston Harbor in reaction to being taxed by the British.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Many of them had left Europe because of their strong religious or political views. They protested strongly when the British government put taxes on their everyday supplies, and found this unfair. </div>]]></description>

         <title>American Revolution: The Cartoon represents the causes of the american revolution; what exactly are those causes?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The biggest causes were that people wanted an escape from England so they can focus on their religions, etc. But then England started taking over again, and making the colonist angry. And then England started taxing everything the used, which only made them even more upset. They started protesting, but they were punished for their protesting attempts, then that's when they decided to fight for their freedom.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The colonist thought it was unfair of the british to tax them for everyday supplies and resources, so as a protest, colonists disguised as Native Americans. They boarded an English ship in Boston Harbor and threw its cargo of highly taxed tea overboard. This became known as the Boston Tea Party.<br><br>The British government reacted harshly to the protest. This event eventually escalated and became the american revolution, but isn't the cause.</div>]]></description>

This estate was the wealthiest and had the most control over other estates.<br><br>Nobles: The second estate had people who worked for the government, or Nobles. They were the second wealthiest, but still had trouble finding work, and only has more power than the commoners.<br><br>Commoners: The common people or peasants. They make up the third estate, and are the poorest. They are the only ones who have to pay taxes. They have no power and all they do is work.<br><br></div>]]></description>
