• P (population or patients): The population in the study are juvenile patients under the age of 18 with a mental health condition.

• I (intervention, influence, or exposure): Outpatient support (primary care physician, psychologist, therapist, counsellors, and/or prescribed medication).

• C (comparison): Consistent outpatient support versus inconsistent outpatient support.

• O (outcomes): Quality of life (has increased or decreased).

• T (time): Over a 90-day period.

Providing background literature on the core issue may be challenging for my manuscript because the cohort being studied is a juvenile population receiving consistent and inconsistent outpatient care with a mental health condition, and most of the published research in this area of study is related to mental health issues in the adult population, and juvenile offenders with mental illness. This would make it challenging to provide context to my core issue.

The resolution of the case issue would be difficult to write because I would have to consider if my resolution would be tangible. A proposed resolution would be dependent on the willingness of the hospital administration to make changes, receiving proper government funding, medical insurance reimbursement policies, and patient population (juvenile patient and family/support system) to collectively comply with my proposed resolution. The likelihood of this happening is low because all parties would have to collectively work together.

The requirements of a manuscript in a clinical, and case study articles are to focus on one particular clinical issue. As a researcher, remaining focused on one particular clinical issue could become challenging when collecting new data research results. It would be hard to remain focused on just one clinical issue and not react to other clinical issues discovered during the research process. Also, if additional clinical issues are introduced, it could then become problematic to publishing my manuscript.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved authorization form would need to be signed by the patient's parents or legal guardians, and the outpatient providers (hospitals, medical clinics, and private practices) prior to the study beginning. Having the resources to have all these authorization forms signed could become time consuming and costly.
