I chose this community because Florida is a place that hurricanes often hit. Florida is a pretty hot place, even the water is high temperature. Unfortunately, hurricanes form on high temperature water, making Florida an "easy target". From other reference, most hurricanes happened at/near Florida
Hurricane Sandy)

How hurricanes form

The main thing that triggers the formation of hurricanes is warm, humid water(high temperature). This makes evaporation easier in which wind comes in and goes upwards, while letting the other wind come, too. At that moment, when the humid air rises, it forms grey clouds, preparing to "launch". Later on, there will be light wind that steers the whole thing, rotating the hurricane and making it bigger. Hurricanes happen when the ocean water is warm (usually June to November [Fall]). As the wind spiral around the water and mounts it, it forms the centre, known as the "hurricane's eye".

What happens DURING a hurricane

Since hurricanes are formed from water, the rotations of it rains in areas, usually ending up flooding it. Sometimes, the storm would be so bad that 'storm surges' happen. Storm surge is when there's a heavy storm and the dangerously fast rising of the water level, which floods the area even more. Storm surges are also caused by the violent wind. Also, the wind that occurs during hurricanes can be very strong, which causes severe damage to buildings. There may also be flying pieces of debris in the air, in which it may hit someone, injuring them.

The main land form of Florida is called "Ridges". Ridges is a land form for when there's high elevation in an area on both sides, making a triangular "bump". The climate in South Florida(near the water) is a tropical (hot) and HUMID [key thing to hurricanes]. The TYPE of vegetation in Florida would be needleleaf evergreen, high in vegetation

Physically, it's actually pretty impossible to "prevent" a hurricane from happening. The least that we could do would be to reduce the effects from global warming(Not littering. Try to conserve energy) so that the hurricane would kind of "stop" occurring.

The houses could be built on higher grounds with more stable bases, too. Also, hurricanes includes violent winds, causing things to fly, in which houses could have fabric panels to protect the house.

The least you could do would be to try to stay as far away as the hurricane as possible. Also, physically possible, people could put something that blows strong wind into the centre of the hurricane and blow the opposite direction. With that, the hurricane MAY slightly deal a bit less damage or maybe completely disappear.
